This is my first grow with Jack’s 321. Everyone has talked about it so much on here for the past year or so, so I thought I would give it a try.
MG hybrid, day 42
Double Grape, day 30
Sour Bubbly, day 18
I’m feeling pretty good about the results so far.
What are the feed ppm for the top two? Although I don’t see tip burn, they have the high gloss shine from a bit more nitrogen than needed.
I’m having a little bit of a pH issue with those two. They do have a bit of buildup so I’m currently just giving them water until their pH is back in range.
Keep on eye on the root zone salts (runoff TDS as well as PH) which tells you with authority when to supplement and when not to.
My experience with Jack’s is it generally doesn’t require any flushes under normal use: just feed on every watering day. I do add silica as it is a necessary micronutrient which both helps prevent disease and is needed to produce trichome stalks.
You are running a bit of an N excess and wonder how much light is on each plant…
I’ve got an SF2000 about a foot and a half above them.
I’m also using TPS Billions every feed. Should I halt that?
This adds microbes which break down nutrients and make them easier for the plant to absorb them. It isn’t necessary to use it every feed. You need to be careful with microbe products as they can dramatically increase nutrient uptake and lead to nute burn. Once a week (or even less) is sufficient. It may be the reason you are seeing a bit of nute burn.
That is excellent info. Thanks!
Another thing with microbes @MidwestGuy @Myfriendis410, at least in my case, they appear to raise pH levels too. I have no idea what the chemistry is or how it happens. I feed jacks in coco at 5.6 - 5.8 with Tribus or Voodoo Juice, yet runoff pH will rise to 6.4 or higher after several weeks. It scares me so I water with enough RO or plain pH water to get it to 6.2. It is hard getting it lower without absolutely flooding the coco. FWIW
That must be a coco thing, because it seems to me (in soil) that the microbes lower the pH of the water dramatically. Like from 7.0 (distilled) to around 5.5. I have to pH Up the water every feeding.
So I’m a little curious. I don’t see where the amounts of the Part A, Part B, and Epsom salts ever change throughout the feeding schedule. Am I missing something?
Nope. It’s the same throughout the grow.
Then will the ppm levels get to where they need to be based on needing more water in flowering?
Because you feed every water, correct?
Jack’s is gentle enough it causes no issues running full strength from seedling to harvest. I don’t even flush the medium any more. The only time one would try to lower TDS in the soil would be if the plant shows an issue (which can happen with some plants).
Good start. You won’t go back to expensive liquids if you use jacks the right way. I stopped using the GH trio 2 years ago and bought jacks. I still have about 2 years of fertilizer now @LongtimeListener_FirsttimeCaller
Would it be safe to say that the small problem I’m currently having is because of the ph being in the 5.6-5.8 range?
Haha yeah I have a bunch of the FF stuff. I’m wondering if I can use one of the flowering supplements for the NPK boost during the first two weeks of flower on the Jacks schedule?
You might as well use the bloom booster up. I used the Lucas formula so no grow formula.
What medium are you in? Coco is fine right there. FF soils tend to drift downward.
Looks more like a root zone issue with one and two pictured.
