Almost 13 days since watering the gen2 ladies.
Unreal
Their roots must be filling up the soil down low as that’s where the water is. Still no obvious signs that they need watered. Maybe the white widow showing some but other than that none.

Well I couldn’t take it anymore after 13 days without watering I decided it was time. Gave each about 1/2 gallon each and will follow with another 1/2 gallon each this afternoon.

I also installed my new UV-A&B light fixtures next to my main lights.
Set up to run 15 minutes at 11am, 3pm and 6pm and will increase this time over the next week or so at which time I should be ready to flip them for flower.

Will also be putting the 3 Autoflower in with them as by then they should be ready for the big top.

How I lowered my soil PH using just RO water.
So I kept thinking about @WickedAle mantra about not bothering to Ph water when flushing because it won’t change the Ph due to not having any buffer capacity and that makes sense but to me is seemed like there is more at play in the soil matrix.
As I was preparing 3 gallon pots with the Kind Soil and my top soil to put the Autos in I decided to check out a few things on this Lazy Sunday good buzz in afternoon. I had done this test before with basically the same results. Of course I wanted to check my soil Ph before planting so I whipped out my big 10” probe and jammed it into my top soil. This mix was left over from potting up the girls in the 7 gal pots and had been sitting growing fungus and it still had some moisture content yet.
My first reading as it was came in at Ph 6.8
I added about 1 1/2 quarts of RO water and mixed it up compacted the soil into a corner pile and tested again. Ph 6.6
Added more water and mixed Ph 6.4

One of my pics too big hope it’s not critical to show you reading. Anyway

So as the soil contains more water it either has an increase in CEC ? Or my meter is more accurate with increasing moisture (if too wet won’t read correctly- has to be medium moisture 4-8 or so range) or there again are other forces in the soil matrix that drives the Ph.
Interesting stuff to me anyway.

I also find the soil Ph varies when I test my plants at different depths and in correlation to the moisture content as well.

Anyway breaks over bosses are yelling at me to finish their new home builds and I’m hungry :yum:

Always learning / relearning new and old things all the time. Weather they are right or not is another story lol

Ok I’m out

I’m gonna mention this fan again as I am so impressed with its ability to cover my entire 4x8 floor space with random and variable wind patterns without concentrating wind on any one area so provides mixed flow without constant flow on any one area.
Pics don’t show it justice but it gently rustles all plants in my spaces very well. It’s the only one I’ve come across that mimics outside breezes.

Hope this helps anyone who needs better air/plant movement in a more natural way and only $36.
And no I am not affiliated with them …lol
