This is my first grow ever, I have 2 ILGM GDP’s in 5 gallon fabric pots in a 2x4x5 tent. I have 2 300w led lights hanging, however I have 2 600w bloomspect lights coming in today.hope they fair better, these cheap 300’s are not enough I think. Lighting advice would be appreciated. I am using fox farm’s ocean soil (ph stays around 6.5-7.0) I have an exhaust fan with carbon filter running out nearby window and a small 4” desk fan vented into room to bring fresh air in tent. Another 5” desk fan inside tent for circulation, My plants(Marley and Charlie) are staring veg cycle this week I believe.I haven’t given any nutrients yet, being my first time I figured less was better. I’ll try to get a pic but I’m not exactly tech savvy. Marley seems to be doing good but Charlie’s leaves look a little deformed or something. Looking for some input, do I need to be worried. I know I’m in the right place And was hoping someone would share some knowledge… thanks in advance.
My temp stay around 71-73 with lights on and 68-70 with lights off. Humidity around 55-60% always…
Light cycle is 20-4.
Welcome to the community ! Overall I think your plants look good . You mentioned pH are you watering to run off if so you may be over-watering with plants that size.
Just my thoughts good luck.
Haven’t watered to run off yet, just been spraying mainly, wanted them to get a littler bigger first. I hope that’s the right move as I find myself second guessing every move I make… so you think Charlie’s leaves are okay? Thanks for your time and advice
Charlie’s going to be fine. As I was looking at the pictures it look like your soil was a little wet. At this point I would water in about a 6-inch circular pattern try not to over water. Let those Roots go searching for moisture.
Yeah I watered a bit to much first week I found out…
I’m have since just been spraying… thanks a lot for your help…
Welcome to the community! Great start. I would invest in the fox farms trio for your first nutes, it’s what am using. You won’t need nutes for a month, since FFOF is already hot.

Good luck! Are you going to top them?
Thanks Zee, will definitely be adding this to my cart…
Do I give nutrients during Flowering too? Thanks for your time and help…
I want to top them. Just not sure exactly how yet, been reading a lot on here and learning more everyday. Very grateful I found you guys…I was going to attempt to top above the 5th node… the fourth has just started growing I think. Am I right or am I way off… they sprouted may 4th and I wanted to start Flower around July 1st… is this to soon?
Those are photos, right? If your growing autos, you won’t control flowering.
Looks like they’re just starting their 3rd node. I don’t count the 1st single leaves as a node.
@Zee sorry it took so long, hit my max number of replies yesterday… Lol… anyhow, yes they are photos and I do plan on topping( as long as I can muster up the guts). My new lights came in yesterday, 2 bloomspect SL600 watts. Today was the first day I used them, they are much brighter than what I had previously. They do have a dimmer switch, which I have turned all the way down. They look good but my temp jumped up to 78. I know that’s not to high, but it is a 5-8 degree jump, just like that…I’m worried about the heat as I gradually turn the lights up and as my plants get bigger… anything I can do or should I not even be worried… thank you for your time and advice…
@BobbyDigital thanks for the info, where do you top? Do you too more than once? I’m kinda on a time crunch so I want a pretty short veg time, but I also don’t want to start flower to early. Does topping prolong the veg?
I top at either 4th or 5th node. Depends on the size of the plant. You can top as many times as desirable. Depending on how healthy the plant is, some will take the topping and keep on trucking like nothing happen. Others can stall for a few days to a week to recover from it.
If you’re not looking to veg for long you could skip the topping. Topping is mainly used to keep the plant shorter.
you can let them grow to the 6th node or so, that way some branch material starts a bit at the 4th node, then leave a 1/2" of stalk and pinch her there. All will be golden!
@BobbyDigital is right some plants dont need topping to be super bushy and branchy look at this… no topping
She a bushy little monster baby! You could top that plant half way down the stalk and scrog the side branches and get tons of dope off it! Or if you have the space, you could forgo the topping and just flower it au natural’ and still get tons of dope!
Awesome, thanks for the help @Cannabian @Bobbydigital…guessing I should wait a week or two after topping before I start Flower, and topping after 5th or 6th node,I’m only gonna get to top once then huh? If that? Depending on how fast they grow I guess?
Oh you can switch light to 12 /12 any time you like but a plant that is not sexually mature wont flower. You need to see its sex parts before it will be ready to flower…
once these present themselves, its game on!Keep in mind, where you top, depends on how many colas (new tops) you want. If you want 6 tops, cut above the 3rd, want 8, cut above the 4th…and so on. Top at the very top of the stem, right below the next node. If you want some guidance on topping let me know
Awesome @Zee, that’s helps tremendously. It’s all starting to make little more sense now… I will definitely be hitting you up for some guidance when they get ready… not to much longer I hope…
