Sorry bud, I don’t know much or have experience in hydro.

Need to lower the water level sounds like. 2” below the net pot. Hand water from the top, until roots make it down there.

I’m a soil grower no idea about hydro.Sorry

When I soak the Rockwool should I put calmag in the water

No hydro for me, too noisy for my bedroom where my tents are.

@Covertgrower so how often would you top feed it until the roots reach

Once or twice a day. Depending on how fast everything dries out.

I always start seeds in rapid rooters in dome and tray. Watch for growth and roots and move them to a small diy hydro system then, finally into the 5g.

Out of all the seeds ive grown so far ive never put a dome over any of my seedlings. Will it make a difference or not ive never experienced problems but then again i was having major problems keeping the humidity low in my tent and room

The dome is just to up the humidity so if you’re humidity is naturally high then you probably wouldn’t need a dome. @Mark0427

Nice I have not tried using Rockwool. I try to be as green as I can. I read Rockwool is bad for the environment and can be bad to your health. I don’t use organic nutrients though. Perhaps someday.

My black magicc grow pail has rockwool in it. Wish i would have got something diff tho. The biggest cube o can use in that is like a 2x2 cube. Unless i customize a new top. It works but i believe would be better if they had a bigger opening for 1 bigger plant. It has spots to get 4 going but 4 would be overkill on that bucket. Hell 2 plants would be too much for that. Its a cool setup for the price but the cube isnt big enough to grow a bigger plant in for sure i dont think. Hell o have my big sativa photo plant and the main stalk is about 2 and a half inches round at dirt level. That would not be fitting in that bucket. Lol

Just use 5.5ph tap water with no calmag. Dont try and rush the seedling.

Rapid rooters are pretty good but they like to grow green algea or white mold on them if they stay wet to long. I spray them with peroxide a lot. For my coco grows I’m just planting them right in the coco from now on. That bucket does look small.
