My main issue here is the big guy with the leaves curling upward. I’m attempting my first organic grow using Fox Farms Strawberry Fields top soil with Coast of Maine Plant food during the vegetative state and Coast of Maine Buds and bloom for flowering. I did have a couple other issues I was able to resolve on my own thanks to this group, but curling leaves upwards? I’ve also included a picture of the whole grow space to show all of these plants were germinated July 27th and as you can see the Banana Cream OG monster in the back row took off like a champ, but then the leaves started curling. Each plant here was given a half cup of Coast of Maine Plant food mixed in on top of the soil.

Additionally, The two plants in the back row that includes my problem plant are auto flower the other four are photoperiod. Odd thing with those was they germinated easily, stretched about three inches with two leaves not counting the cotyledons. I put them in the veg closet and dropped the grow lights down on them and they did nothing for two weeks. So as a last attempt, I replanted them in the 10 gallon buckets last Thursday and as you see in the photos, voilà!

Now back to the main issue here, My leaves are curling up, WHAT DO I DO?. Some days this sport makes me feel like a worried mother who just sent her little girl off to kindergarten day 1.

Looks like possible overwatering or heat issues. Those are the main culprets. What’s your watering schedule and amount look like? What lights are you using and what’s the temp in the grow area at? Light height and intensity?

The temp in the grow room is between 75-82 day time and 72-68 at night. The light is about 14 inches above it. It may be under watering because I don’t water til runoff when they’re this small. problem is, the plant with the issues is probably ready for a good water til runoff and then let him go about three or four days. I didn’t think of this. Up until now each plant got about twenty oz of water a day. While we’re on this topic, is it a good idea to water til runoff for little plants like the other small ones when they’re in 10 gallon buckets?

I’m not 100% sure to be honest, I grow in coco, so I water daily to runoff. Let me tag @MidwestGuy and see what he recommends.

Im curious. I have a little bit of the same.issue going on. Ill have to time to do a slurry test on Friday and see if its ph. Im also doing a few soil mixes that i havent done before. I originally thought is was shock from when i moved them from a smaller room to a larger room with the big lights… thought it was heat so i dropped the temps… lights too intense… turned down intensity… none of this has worked so im going to slurry them and check the real numbers…

I think you guys nailed it. The bigger plant is closer to the light. I’ll move the photoperiods into my empty flowering tent early, that way these two auto’s can have their own light at a custom height that’s 16" above them.

Your light is way to close for these little ones. I run 60w at 19" per plant for all veg. Running that light you have that close is definitely not helping you  Other than the one plant. These are looking great. :+1:

Agree with the light. They’re curling up to protect themselves from the intense light.

Can I get some help with this yellow stuff on my leaves. I’d like to complete an organic grow without synthetic solutions. So far I have a cubic foot of FF strawberry Fields potting soil with a half cup of Coast Of main Plant Food raked in across the top.

All advice is welcome

I did forget to mention, I water with an unsulfured Black Strap molasses solution and the foliage spray is only supposed to be half of the strength you water with. This could be the result getting that on the leaves when I water. These are sativa strains ,but the nodes start close to the ground and node spacing is very close. I may need a new watering pot for these so I can avoid getting molasses on the leaves when I water.
