First Aquaponics Grow outdoors

My first grow in aquaponics.
Second grow ever.

Strain = unknown
Germination to photos= 3.5 months
Flowering time = first pistols 3.5 weeks ago
Substrate = scoria rock
Feed = fish biproducts

Fimmed at 3rd node then topped at 5 (from memory)

Lst to train branches then released after 2 weeks.

That’s really interesting. What kinds of fish are in there? I’ve use the fish waste from my fish tank for my plants too. Nothing quite like your setup lol.

I did have 50 silver perch but i accidentally killed them with a power outage. Now i just have 5 goldfish and 10 yabbies.

I’ve been using a baster to suck up the waste under the gravel and then I add it in with my waterings. It’s a pain but I’m trying lol.

Nice, that should help. You need the nitrification to happen from Ammonia. So as long as you have nitrifying bacteria in those rocks you should be ok.

Whats your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate reading in the tank?

You can buy test strips from any fish/aquarium place.

What youre looking for is nearly 0 ppm ammonia and nitrite, but 30+ppm nitrates. My system sits around 80ppm nitrate and its dynamite for plants
