Fired Up, Ready to Grow

Day 26 since sprouting.

First time full watering to run off to measure ph. All photos in a 80/20 mix of FFOF/FFHF
WhW is 7” tall, AK47 7.5”. Both in 5 gal fabric pots, took about 55oz h2o, ph = 6.8
BBG
Raised both lights to 18”. Still running 18/6 on lights but assume I’ll soon switch to start flowering. Ordered notes today thru FF so hope they arrive before I actually need them. Still wondering if my branches (sorry, I haven’t absorbed all the lingo yet) are too tightly packed, but if @dbrn32 says I’m good, I won’t sweat it.

Anyone care to weigh-in on when I should switch to 12/12 to start flowering? @Dennis62 @OldTimeRockAndGrow @BStarr @patchman @Mrniceguy1

Damn auto correct…nutes not notes.

I have only grown 1 photo so far but I think most will say around 2 months. But you need to plan on them doubling in size or maybe a little more. So the height of your lights comes into play and how much head room you have to raise them. I let mine go around 9 or 10 weeks if I remember. It did get pretty tall and I needed go put some bamboo poles in for support near the end. It did double in size. Here is a pic after 2 days in the dark before harvest.

If you have the room I would let the plants get a little bigger before flowering them.

Hey man the girls are looking good, and with ffof you should not need nutes for I think 4 to 5 weeks, I use a hot soil so I start my nutes about the same time. And I am limited on hight so I flip my photos at most 18 inches, and most plants ended up 32 to 36 inches lol my limit. As they can double in size. Your doin great man keep up the good work @Naptown

Day 29 and they’re growing like, um, weeds. Question of the day is how bushy is too bushy?

Nodes on my WhW and Bbg are really tightly packed together. They look healthy but I’ve got sprouts on top of sprouts on top of sprouts. Both are about 7” tall with lights 16-17” above. Should I be pruning or will that just cause more offshoots? Or is it just fine for them to be this bushy as long as they’re otherwise healthy?
Here’s the white widow, bbg looks about the same.

Thanks as always!

Day 32. I’m planning to start nutes with next watering, probably Sunday (today’s Friday) and planning to flip to 12/12 on lights to force flowering soon. More later.

Very nice bushy girls my friend, all nice and healthy. Very good work  My girls are a week behind yours and like yours short and bushy, but when they streach woooo hoooo

Hey @Dennis62 thanks as always for for chiming in. I really studied your last couple grows before I started since we have similar grow space. If I can get a fraction of what you do out of my 1st grow I will be thrilled!

I’m starting nutes tomorrow then flip to 12/12 on Tues if all goes well with the nutrients. It’s funny the stuff you just don’t know how to plan when you start — I’ve restrung my lights and switched my filtration around to many times it’s redic! Lol. But it is good to have a new hobby these days.

Thanks man I appreciate that. I guess I don’t know how to take complements ha ha, so glad you have seen and appreciate what I did… I love how amazing these plants are, this next phase of growth is magical. I started nutes on my girls this week also, and next week I’ll have to start flowering nutes on my auto in preflower, she is going to start streaching too. I am sure you will have good yields, you are doing a great job. I can’t wait to see your girls in 2 weeks my friend

Day 35/Week 5 since germination and I just added nutrients for the first time. Only did 2 tsp of FF Big Bloom/gallon (feed chart says 3) to make sure they handle it okay. I’ll start adding the Grow Big and Tiger Bloom on subsequent feedings per their chart.

Noticed a bit of taco-ing and yellow tips on some of the newer leaves but assume it isn’t at a level I need to worry about (yet).

Still amazed at how bushy the WhW and Bbg are! Hoping it isn’t going to be a problem once I start flowering.

AK’s been, of course, growing taller with more node spacing than the other 2:

Lights are at 15-18” above canopy, and I plan to flip to 12/12 mid-week after I make sure I don’t f them up with the nutes.

That’s all for now, thanks again to everyone who helped me get this far!

Thank you! Is it normal to have some amount of yellowing on newer leaves that goes away as they mature? I’m trying to just go with the flow unless it gets bad.

@dbrn32 is some taco-ing and yellowing on new leaves anything to worry about if it resolves as they mature? Do I flip from 18/6 to 12/12 lights slowly, like changing 1-2 hrs of light daily, or all at once? Thanks much!
