Fertilization capacities based upon size

Are there guidelines of the actual volumes of nutrient solutions to apply to plants based upon their sizes?

I have a dozen girls outdoors: 1 late planting @ 3’ and the rest 6’x6-14’x14’. They’re fed 1x/week; the larger plants have been taking up to 1gal. with no sign of overfertilizing; doing great actually,

It’s high-drainage, sandy soil so watered daily and that may account for capacities.

But, really, I’m just guessing. So far that’s worked out but I’d be happy if there were rules-of-thumb already worked-out.

My rule of thumb is do what the plant says. I don’t do ppm or pH runoff. I have had a plant take a gallon while the one next to it takes a quart.
