This strange looking lady here is an End Game Rbx I took clones from during week 8 flower. The mother was a Mutant that grew without visible pistils and formed very small but extremely dense bowl sized nugs.
My current profile picture is from week 3 flower on this plant. She just started forming bloomed nugs out the gate from the top down. When new pistils did form if i could find them they grew under the flower instead of on the surface.
So the plan is taking these S1’s and making S2’s and hopefully locking in this mutation. Will be my first attempt at breeding so i probably have this wrong. Please feel free to add any relevant advice on this.
The one pictured here is going to be an outdoor grow and getting trained for beast mode. My crosses are working in hydro currently bulking up for more clones before i send em.
You can hit them with pollen during the reveg. Than reveg with seed. Harvest seed and strip the flowers. The clone or mama then can be spring planted after flowering buds, seeds, and all. The advantage is you have seed in hand for the next grow before the current grow is done. I have done hundreds of experiments of sister clones with pollen, next to without, and the reveg time is identical seeds on board or sans seed. You may as well get a pocket full of seeds too since you have to wait out the reveg anyway. @Ebb, I always enjoy your posts and comments. Great thread here and keep up the friendly useful demeanor.
This is an especially useful technique in pheno hunts. If the mama sucks (in contrast to yours you know is great) you can toss all the seeds into the bird feeder and not waste time with the next grow on them.
That is a technique i used to do in early spring for outdoor grows around the house or at least the beginning. Do you see how skinny/stringy the branches are since you cloned from a flowering plant? You can run those branches above and underground making multiple root systems. The branches will be very vine like. Great system of camoflauge and health from the multiple root systems
@Ebb, hope you don’t mind a relevant hijack.? if you do I will gladly cut it out no hard feelings. Just let me know. I made a journal about this and it was crickets…when I first joined.
So these are seeds I made 2 years ago crossing jillybean to the dj short blueberry. They are all siblings from the same mother and same seed run. I didn’t get to run them until late this winter after some other pollen projects.
Sprouted the weekend after thanksgiving and grown in unheated garage averaging 50f. They grow slowly during the cold days; that is advantageous to me to keep them small. Then flipped them to 12/12 about 6 weeks ago. If one wanted to do more seed runs they could run the seedlings at 12/12 from the start, and have a heated tent or space. They will show you when they are ready. I wanted to wait until closer to spring to pollinate/flower mine.
As the spring temps rise so do the growth rates. When not carrying seed, I top them down to 1 node to keep them Bansai while just maintaining them in veg if they reach the lights. Then when I transplant them they explode from the binding of size. The advantage of Bansai is that you can keep a lot of plants in veg under a small light on 1 shelf. Hundreds of Bansai seedlings or clones. Minimal watts of light.
I turned them back to 20on/4off just today. I will cut the males out 7 days from now. So open pollination of my F1 cross siblings. I will harvest all the seeds in 4 weeks and will get about 1000 seeds. The plants will reveg like they all do. As long as I remove the “flower growth” and leave the veg growth that comes after those plants never skip a beat. This is my favorite way to pheno hunt in the off season for my outdoor big plants in the raised beds. You can tell even at the Bansai size which females you like better if you have limited flower space, and cull the rest. After taking all the culling’s seeds😊. Unless they suck and the birds are happy. I have definitely made s**t seeds that the whole batch went to the birds.
Thank you very much. Its great to hear positive feedback. Most the time i just feel like everyones tired of hearing me like my gf lol. Im the only grower i know where im at so this is the only real interaction i get when it comes to growing. Kind of like growing weed on the moon. Its all good and great but with no one to share ideas with its pretty lame.
@Medicineman33 sounds like a plan. They still have about 40 more days to veg before they hit the outdoors where im at so im hoping for great things out of this one. Its been a long slow road getting here though i know that.
@noddykitty1 thank you for your response. I definetly will need some guidance to avoid any pitfalls along the way. Im not currently set up for any type of breeding until i get this grow room started and finished lol.
Just did some clean up and LST work on these 2. I dont know what i was thinking when i tossed both of these in the same bucket lid. Especially now that i realize one is a Gelato and the other an End Game Rbx after they filled out a bit. So im either going to have to sacrafice a bucket lid and cut thier roots out of the bucket. Or just ride with it and toss em in a 10 gallon res and have a very strange looking grow.
I have no doubt on that one. These things have been put through just about every possible stressor i can throw at them. Just wasnt sure what the popped bubble wrap leaf was about lmao.
