Eliminate interior branches in trees?

First grow. I’ve removed many inside branches and leaves to allow more air flow and less wind breakage. But they still seem as if I could do more. Will the buds on the branches closer to the trunk do enough to let them grow? Would I get better yield if I removed more?
The pictures are from outside the plant and from the interior taken from the room they’re growing against.

I think they look good. I would let her grow.

White widow is my personal favorite!!! I grew her last season and still have many z’s. I have been growing outdoors for 16 years, directly in the ground. I’m In NC so lots of moisture and humidity. I am constantly trying and learning new ways to keep my girls happy. Last year was the first time I tried " pruning" and am doing it now just before harvest. I highly suggest doing away with any lower branches that do not appear to have sufficient buddage. The energy will focus on what remaining and make them stronger.

I really appreciate your taking the time to advise me. But as a first-time grower, I don’t know what insufficient budding would look like. The larger branches have stacked buds. Are you suggesting that I cut away branches with buds that don’t appear to be stacking?

okay… sorry. Using a tomato plant as a reference. As the season comes to an end a tomato plant will have different size fruit. You keep the larger and do away with anything that you know has no time to mature. Even if you see new flowers emerging prune them away. Those tiny immature green tomatoes hanging from the vine may actually turn red but are they worth saving? I would keep any buds larger then 1/2 inch. I’m guessing you have many straggly-looking branches with lots of leaves and tiny buds. The upper part of your plant should have much larger thicker branches and obviously larger buds… yes? I’m guessing this is what you are referring to as stacking? It comes down to time and effort. This is the end of the growing season so there’s really not much more you can do. Trimming away all those thin tiny buds will save time trimming, but even the tiniest bud will have trichomes. When I first started I salvaged every tiny bud. Nothing went to waste. I wish I knew how to post pictures on this site. I guess for now use your best judgment. Everyone has an opinion, and we all know what that means… haha.

Thank you. The tomato comparison speaks to me. I topped all my tomato plants in late August for the reasons you say. In fact, I’ve been making choices about the weed plants by analogy to my tomatoes. It’s worked well. I’ll take another look and do a bit more trimming.
