Easy do it yourself grow bulbs

For 150 I’d either get a 600 watt hid or a hlg 100

@Bamagrl no problem, I just didn’t want you to be confused! I’m in my first grow so I’ve got a whopping 4 plants worth of experience :joy::joy::joy: but I went to Lowe’s and bought 100w 5k lumen natural light bulbs for my seedlings. I also bought the metal reflector. I got a 4 pk of bulbs as I wasn’t sure how long they would last and had to have 2 reflectors because I had 4 plants, but I’m sure one reflector and a pack of bulbs would be less than $20. Can’t say it’s the best set up but I can say it worked for me. My ladies are barely into flower now and had zero issues using those lights.

On a 600 watt Vivosun hps or hid light just got the hlgs in so they weren’t there.

@SKORPION I have seen that one, but noticed it said hydroponic and passed by it. Does that even matter?

No lighting needs are the same no matter how you grow.

You need alot of ventilation because they get hot so watch that but @Hellraiser used them for a long time.

Oh its all good. My half pitbull half American Buldog is a hard core addict. She will try to steal the bong from you.

She can’t get near my plants or she will steal them. I have her stay in my sister’s room so I can keep her from getting high. I never would have any Pit and or mix but I met a hiker on the Appalachian Trail. He has Pits and she don’t play nice with others. Especially bigger dogs. So he fave her to me.

@Bamagrl The HLG 135 watt v2 R-Spec LED kit will veg a 3x3 space an flower a 2x2 space. As @Dennis62 mentioned this would be a good choice for your space. You can always buy one and add another one later if you wanted to expand. This light will pay for itself in 1 grow. Just my thoughts stay safe and good luck

They hlg 100 or 135 would be a better light, but your budget would need to go up, so do it if within a few months you could afford to get another one. In my first pic that is what those are.

@kellydans have you ever seen anyone run hlg 65’s I know they are cheap. But never seen anyone use them.

No I’ve never used one . But if I had a choice between one of those or blue purple. I would take the hlg 65. I haven’t researched it but it should support one plant.

I was thinking it would probably do one and being under 100 bucks she could get two for her budget to support two plants. I mean worse case add a couple cfls if necessary in flower.

I agree you have to work with the budget that you got to work with. Hlg has a tech support might be worth a call and talk to them and see what they feel about one of the lights for one or two plants. Before she makes the purchase.

I had a 1000 dollar budget, that is currently at about 2400. So yeah not good at staying on budget and my wife has a accounting degree so she knows I’m over. Lol
