Because of the weather I wanted something I could start a couple of baby girls and control the heat and humidity.
This is everything I used,
1 - 5gl bucket and lid
1 - timer
1 - surge protector
1 - 9w 125v 3000k 540lm LED grow light (HD)
1 - pendent fixture with 125v plug
1 - Drill hole in lid to fit pendent fixture.
2 - use pendent nut to secure.
3 - screw in bulb and plug into timer.
It doesn’t get any easier, I can fit 5 dixie cups in the bottom and found out it stays a constant 75 degrees . Not only can I use it to start a few baby girls but when it comes time to clone it will be perfect. Cost is somewhere > $50. I’ll post any improvements as the pop up.
When it’s finished.
Now the babies are safe from dogs, cats, pests and makes a fine nightlight.
girls seem to be liking the Jacks. Gonna have to modify the buckets I’m running out of room up top.
That is bud light.
I’m really liking this thing, it makes a killer starter house, in time I’m sure I can think of some upgrades like foil on the inside and maybe a small 3v computer fan. See youngun’s this is what you have to look forward to when you retire… hours of sitting around thinking up stuff that makes the world a better place.
i like the low-tech BlueHouse (lol instead of green) idea man. i think a small fan would be a good upgrade.
this one is like 8$
well im not retired but I love stuff like this haha
@DukeHale They make a little 5v fan that plugs into a usb port, I can get a 4 pack for $10. I have a Inkbird PID I use for my “water distillation device” they work great I can program my heat to come on and go off at a exact degree so I don’t “scorch” my water.
BTW, PID - proportional integral derivative controller, pretty cool little device.
man so could i use a PID to maintain a ph level in a reservoir?
no its used to turn on electrical devices at a certain temp. Its like the thermostat in your house that turns on the heat and air.
