How can I drop my RH in tent? IT runs 67% to 58% I cant afford to buy anything right now. Any ideas? @VaHillbilly @Newt @Deepsix @JaneQP @Audiofreak @Putz @Fiz @Graysin @Nicky
If you can’t buy anything, then your best bet is likely increasing the exhaust fan speed. (Assumes the RH outside of the tent is lower then inside)
How old are the plants in question? If they are young they are ok with the higher humidity. They need to drop down to 40 - 50% when the buds are developing so they don’t get bud rot.
Theres the rub. Outside is running close 65% and I have a dehumidify running 24/7 but it is taking nothing out of the air. Tent in basement@Fiz @Newt got 4 fans in tent exhaust on high
I have my dehuey sitting outside of my tents, and it works well. But it is rated at 120 pints per day.
Never having used a dehumidifier, I have to ask this very basic question: does it have a hydrometer or something on it to dial in the required RH? It seems weird it wouldn’t pull anything with 65% RH?
Thats what I was thinking mr.Newt move dehuimid to right by the tent By the intake vent see how that works today. Thank @Fiz my has digtal adjustments on it. Maybe this will work?
I would definitely defer to @Newt on this one seeing as I don’t have a dehumidifier. It was just the first thing that occurred to me, that you may have the settings too high.
I set mine to 35% in late flower. And I keep a poor mans humidifier in my clone tent to help keep the humidity in that tent up. You can see it here:
Jar of distilled water, with a microfiber towel “flowered” out of the top.
Which dehumidifier are you using spud? My 70 pint GE will strip a gallon of water in 6/7 hours… only running 12 hours when lights are out… $60 electric bill! 100° temps!
Truth is you can run oscillating fans up to mid flower in 65% RH… after that stage is no man’s land…
If I was in that situation I would run a preventative maintenance of spray… diluted hydrogen peroxide water solution right before lights came on… with continuous oscillating fans on bud
… But that’s just me
I have high humidity too with lights off. 70%+. I just keep a fan on my plant at all times, and the exhaust fan full blast. I have a little fan blowing air in a 6” intake fan too. I’m about two weeks from harvest, and so far so good.
despite what I put them through. Lots of air movement, that’s all I can suggest if you can’t buy your way out of this situation (like I can’t either! A new light, yes, but a/c or dehumidifier for the garage, wifey says NO!)
And my AC Infinity 4" fan runs at speed 9, 24/7 exchanging air, plus 2 other smaller fans 24/7 and one blowing on the light when it is on.
I use a poor mans humidifier for my drying process. Works like a charm!
I have 5 fans going in the tent blowing up and around at pot levels heat is running 77 to 80 and air flow is very good I believe. Have not Knock on my head! No problems 3rd grow in tent. Thanks @Fiz @beardless @Dexterado @Spudgunner @Newt @Docnraq
Having same problem myself @spudeater65. All you can do is have that air moving as much as you can! Im nervous as heck myself, today it hit 94 outside and 80% humidity. Luckily i can get my rh down to mid 50’s rh but my temp is high in the low to mid 80s (in tent). But the budz are getting thick, not risking this time of year again. Good luck brother.
