Does this look right? Too skinny?

First can I just add some info to my journal I started or does it have to be the new week thing every time I just want to add extra info during the week?. I was going to chart weekly info on Fridays but I’m noticing things with the two I’ve got going and I just wanted to see if this is right. They have only been ‘above ground’ 1 and 2 days.
They seem to be really tall and skinny… Should they be thicker or more leaves now or are these looking right. My husband has an old ph/light/moisture meter and it is showing that they are way too wet I guess? I haven’t even watered them yet… They are in the dirt just the way it came lol. Anyway I’m a photographer on the side but I’m just using my phone camera for these pics cause it’s quick and easy… But I think this may have to be partly how I have to document my progress. Anyway… Here is Priscilla… The 2 day old and Lucy… The 1 day old

I looked at some of the journals and I found them to be cumbersome. I decided not to attempt using it. Can’t help you out with it sorry. Maybe tag a grower you see with a journal.

They look fine. You can throw a little more soil later around the main stem if needed, or put a bamboo skewer. That meter is to going to get you very far though as far as pH, though. Highly recommend an upgrade.

The first little rounded leaves are the cotyledon leaves. They provide nourishment to the seedling until it sets roots and then will grow leaves. The cotyledon will yellow and die off eventually.
The seedlings look like they might be a little stretched out but not severely. Stretching is controlled by the light. You can lower it a inch or two and see if that reduces the stretch.

I have another one coming, I’m hoping it’s better.

Awesome. Didn’t mean to seem like a butt.

Do you mean physically lowering the light to bring it closer or lower the intensity?
I don’t get my real lights and tent until later this week so I’ve just got these in my basement at the moment with the light I use for winterizing my outdoor plants.
Here’s a pic of how it’s sitting at the moment though.

You absolutely didn’t sound like a butt lol
:v::hugs:

Put your light closer to stop the stretch. Ease up on watering. I usually just mist the soil once a day until it’s up to the 2nd set of leaves. Only keep an eye on the ph. I don’t trust the moisture meter. Also, as they get bigger, read the leaves. If they start to droop, water. If they are starting to point straight up, they are craving light so pull it closer. If they start to point down, move the light back. They look fine, but at this point it’s easy to over water.
Just some advice from a fellow Packers Fan

Definitely move that light closer, way to far away. Or raise your plants up. They should be around 30" or so away from the light

Weird thing is…I haven’t watered them at all yet!
I may have messed up with the dirt I put them in. I see now it helps retain the water!

Are these autos?

Plants look good. Looks like you can lower the light a little bit. Those meters are useless for ph. The moisture probe works well enough for you to get used to the pot weight when it’s showing dry.

They are actually 22" from the tops of the plant now… Go closer?

Yes lsd auto @BobbyDigital

I would. Take it to about 18.

How is this?

For your future auto grows, I found if you fill 1/2 of your pot with Strawberry Fields, then some Ocean Forest, then Ocean Forest mixed with Happy Frog is a great combo. With this mix, you should need any nutes til about week 5 and at that point just flowering nutes will do. Autos are pretty rugged, and they like cooler Temps and handle dryness very well.
Happy growing

and I attempted to use the photone… Yeah nearly killed my girls trying to stand in the ladder and hold the phone perfectly over them lol and then hold the results so I could write them down lol.
I am a hot damn mess lol
I don’t think I at all got accurate results… For one I don’t even know what kind of light we have hanging up there. I just used the LED full spectrum until I can get my lights in and the tent put up.
This is what I got though … Just so I can start figuring out how to use this thing…

I don’t think I need must of that but I was just happy trying to figure out how to use it. I’ll study up tonight on it

You should put some holes in the bottom of your buckets so any excess water can run out. I’ve had pretty good success with smart pots. Not real expensive on Amazon. 7 or 5 gall. Here the purple kush I just cut today to dry.
