Do seedlings need a dome?

Hello,

I’ve moved my peat pods to pots with Pro-Mix and wondering if I should continue to put a dome over them. The pots I got came with a plastic dome with a vent at the top.

Thanks

The seedlings need the Relative Humidity to be around 70% and 75f or so for a few weeks after they break ground. However you can use or not use humidity domes it just depends if you can meet the above ranges without a dome. The dome makes it easier if they aren’t in that environment to maintain the high humidity along with the temps.

Hope this helps and HAGD

Seedlings derive almost all of their water from the leaves until a taproot forms. Doming and misting the lid helps to provide the correct amount of moisture to your plants.
