Do pots need to have holes in them?

From a fellow grower: When growing outdoors, if I use a 25 gallon plastic container, do I need to perforate the bottom and sides if I live in an area with limited rainfall, say under 10” in the growing season

Drainage holes in at least the bottom.

Growing outdoors in containers has little to do with annual rainfall. You’ll be watering these plants.

Yes the water must drain off are you will have major growing issues .
