Do I fill the pot 1/2 way or all the way

I’ve never grown, this will be my first time growing marijuana… I have chosen to grow in it’s “adult” pot so I don’t risk anything by transplanting, anyways my question is Do I start it in a pot half full and fill as the plant grows (Like I do with tomatoes) or should I fill the pot completely?

My seedlings went straight into 5gal fabric pots. All full with soil, so no trouble with transplanting

Are you growing autoflowers or photoperiods? @420savedMYlife

Youll want to fill most the way up and you will have better luck growing in smaller planters first and transplanting if you are growing photos, and autos tbh.

I grow autos frequently and have to transplant from 2" net pots to 6 or 8" netpots feeding roots to the bottome of the pot and filling them full of leca or smart gravel and have yet to really have a shock issue. Done properly you should have little to worry about when done in soil.

Thank you all I appreciate it, I know I’m going to have a lot of questions (some probably most are stupid)

I’m new to growing as well and found the search/magnifying glass to be helpful. I was able to find some answers a lot quicker because we have all asked them at some point I’m sure.

Welcome to the happy zone.

I’ll add one more trick. Just in case your seedling stretched some or alot, you can add more of your medium up around the stem giving it more support and strength.

Im new, so I left couple of inches to add more if needed.

Again welcome
