This site identifies plants with a pic.

Seems most likely a hemp seed to me. Many wild bird seed mixes have hemp meal in it. Seems more likely than a thc line. I bet they are packaged/harvested in the same work areas.

How would one know this. ?

8-12 weeks at 12/12. Or wait for fall. The hemp will have no or little psychoactive effect. Or lab test a sprig after onset of flowering.

Unfortunately hemp can grow trichomes and look pretty if trained and treated well. That said it usually grows like ditch weed hemp. Straight up, skinny, thin flower clusters. Often hermaphroditic in the hemp form.

If it’s a male we will never know…

Sorry, I thought you were a grower. My bad. I saw you are new to the site. Welcome friend✌️.

Cannabis will flower (bud) when the daylight shortens after the solstice (outdoor) as we approach the fall equinox (12hours light, 12hours dark at the equator). As the days increase (spring equinox towards summer solstice) the plant will vegetate to grow large before flowering. Or as a grower we move it indoors and set the light timer to 12hours on/12 hours off to artificially simulate/control this basic light cycle.

Flowering on 95% of cultivars happens in 8-12 weeks to finish. The hemp flowers will not be euphoric or intoxicating in any way. Think non alcoholic beer or decaf coffee. It’s the self test, did that beer get me drunk? Make sense?

Or lab testing (business usually) can test a sample for you and give you a complete break down of what’s in your sample. Definitive but a bit of money. They may have come down but the last time I looked into lab testing a sample they wanted a whole ounce of product to test and the testing was a bit more than 300$ us.

The last bit was just referring to general morphology of the plant shape. Trichomes are the “sugar crystals” that are usually a visual indicator of high quality (potency) cannabis. Field hemp is usually devoid of trichomes. TLC rather than field grown hemp can “look like” drug cultivars from its outward appearance with some trichome coverage. Also, fruit size. Field hemp has minimal flower size because it’s Cl grown for the fibers in the stalk; and not the flowers at the top. All drug cultivars have been selected for larger fruit (buds).

Males make almost no psycoactive chemicals and are only good for pollinating the females. If growing for drug strains we avoid pollination at all costs to avoid seeds and smaller yields.

That plant site says it could be Ramgoat dashalong. Does it still have the first 2 rounded leaves (cotyledons)? If it does, it’s MJ, if not, prolly not!

I would bet a pound it’s cannabis. Like for sure. I would bet another half pound it’s hemp seed… and not the kind bud.

It the universe telling you to grow it out.

Are you a garden type.? More fruit trees and veggies than yard space? If you are I bet you will have a blast growing it. Even if you never plan to consume it.

I hate pears but grow them anyway. Family and friends.

Wow, that’s amazingly similar. But see the duck foot thing happening on the leaf. Also seems to just be 1 and 3 lobed. The 5 lobes of cannabis would be definitive I would think…?

Yep, same search result got!

@noddykitty1 I think the cotyledons would be a giveaway at this stage, unless that Ramgoat has them too!

Yes show us the stalk

I grew one high CBD feminized hemp plant last year that I bought from a local CBD hemp breeder. The thing was a bush and took over the tomato garden.
