Defoliation / pruning

Hey just need some advice. On pruning my plants … I’m not sure if I should take off the little growth. On the stems that are starting to form I topped my plants about two weeks ago was just wondering would this damage any future bud sites thanks for any input also my plants are still in veg … day 40 to be exact … here some pics

There is plenty of airflow within the plant. Your plant needs those leaves.

They will form at the tips of the plant and at the plant’s nodes.

Remember that your plant needs leaves to produce flower. Taking too many will result in a smaller yield than you would have otherwise.

It’s best to minimize any defoliation until around week three in flower. Then would be a good time to remove understory growth and fan leaves.

Ok yea I was thinking to let everything come in then defoliate the bottom of the plant … also after I topped the plant. They came in real real bushy. Would now be a good time to start low stress training does it matter if some growth is older Or newer ?

Overtraining can hurt yields so it depends on what you have in mind. I don’t do anything beyond topping, tucking, pinching, and pruning as necessary to maintain good airflow within the plants canopy.

Got you I think I’m on the same page as you defoliate as the plant calls for it and let nature do it’s thing…: on my next grow I’ll look into more techniques such as low stress and other things of that nature … thanks a lot midwest
