I went with just a little 4 ton press and I have been perfectly happy with it. I’m just pressing for me and my old lady. If I was doing it over I’d consider dropping the coin for pneumatic though. Pumping gets old.

it’s like eggs, i have to give my given eggs away because i can’t eat that many free eggs fast enough, lol. Even the dogs act tired of them cooked and mixed in the food and at first it was like the greatest treat to them, lol. But no joke, i got plenty of honey to give that a go!

Basically if you decarb your flower (or whatever extract) and heat it gently in honey for a couple of hours you get cannahoney that will get you off. I’ve always used a cheesecloth satchel tossed in a small slow cooker with honey but you could even do it in an oven at low temp (like 150f). If you have a device like a LEVO or Magical Butter Machine you can use either of those with honey as well.
I don’t know the chemistry behind why honey can absorb THC but its the only substance that’s not Alcohol/Hydrocarbon or Fat that I know of that can do it.
This is the best recipe IMO - obv you don’t need a MBM to do it….

So the pic I left above, the product was pretty shattery, hard to get a hit with out it popping across the room trying to break a piece. The last stuff the buddy brought up was a pretty white color and almost worked like icing? Is that “live” too? How it get so white?
Well first of all that product you posted a pic of - I can’t tell from the label if it’s a solventless Rosin or a solvent extract - I notice the label is calling it “resin”.
Different strains, different curing techniques and different pressing techniques all play a part. The texture is mainly dictated by the pressing heat/pressure and how the rosin is cured after pressing. A hot pressing will give you a shattery rosin that if you don’t cure it much will just stay like that. A lower temp press that gets low temp heat cured or fridge cured can take on the full range of textures from crumble to budder to cake frosting to caramel. That’s about what you do to it after it’s pressed.
The color is mainly about the maturity of the trichomes. A lot of people attribute that really light golden and nearly white color to high quality but that’s more a reflection of how mature the trichs were at harvest. Mature amber and cloudy trichromes produce a gold to brown-gold rosin. Clear trichomes produce the very light colored rosins you see. Because the color is seen as more desirable by customers many producers harvest very early to get the look they want. If you see a dark gold rosin don’t get turned off. It’s likely pressed from mature, properly finished plants.
Many of the rosin pressing videos that are very slickly produced are using young harvested buds so they can get that very pretty picture perfect color.

Wow holy crap that Sour D live rosin IS fire. I took a nice video of the whole thing starting with the dried bubble hash all the way through pressing.

They had great sale on black friday.Friday. I’m mad I didn’t buy the 4ton for $250 your press is so quicker n easier than mines.

Ha, no my issues were down to my technique. Pressing rosin just takes a much gentler approach than pressing flower and how you prep the hash and load the bag is a huge factor when it comes to avoiding blowouts.
Next video I post I do get a minor blowout right at the end of the pressing and its not a ripped seam, its just an overzealous operator. If you go too hard there’s no bag that can hold up. Thankfully with my run when it blew it was really minor and i could just pick around the blown out hash. You’ll see… i’ve got a little editing to do on that still. Also got a couple of hash making videos coming down the pike….
Thanks for the kind words on the video. My wife was watching me do the voice overs and was like “you sound bored or tired” or something like that I’m like dear I’m just high af on this Live Sour D and can’t handle loud noises
