Decrease water in flowering?

I’ve heard the ladies don’t need as much water during flower. Does anyone know if this is true? I

I don’t believe it is true @mainah
You’ll still need to water when soil is dry
If anything in my experience they drink more when in flower ?
I may be wrong let’s see what others have to say

I agree with @Countryboyjvd1971 my girls were drinking a lot during flower. Just in order to get runoff it would be at least a gallon to a 5 gallon pot.

I agree with the others. I’ve found my girls get more thirsty during flowering than they do in Veg.

Toward the end of flowering, maybe a week before harvest for my AK-47 auto, I noticed it using a little less water in 30 gallon fabric bag.

I think they use more water as they get bigger, even in flowering, then taper out toward end…

From what I’ve read, it’s not how much as much as it is what you feed them. They are still plants that need water when the soil is too dry

I’ve noticed the less you water during flower the more air fluffy buds there not as solid much tighter nugs with the water it will drink

I think I’ve experienced a little bit of what everyone else has. Although it usually comes in waves along with what I’m doing.

I feel like they would always take a little more in veg after some training, then taper off to normal. Same thing with after flip… maybe not drink as much right at switch for a couple days, then be really thirsty during stretch. After stretch there would be a little lull, and then take right back off to what I considered a normal amount. But I would never say they drank less during flower, usually more.

I’ve been seeing a lot of false information being spread around for the last month or so. All from new members and some haven’t even started their first grow yet. False information makes this forum look bad.

You can say that again. @Rugar89
It’s a conspiracy I tell you, there’s double agents from other b/s forms putting out bad intell must seek and destroy. Put out snippers with orders to shoot on site. No hostages no p.o.w .

It didn’t make sense to me either, but I knew I’d get straightforward answer here. Been a ton of help, I love ilgm.com.

Just have to listen to your girls. They know what they want. I have two that are totally different. One about 3 feet tall drinking a gallon a day. The other is a little shorter, but more colas, drinks less. Just let them do their thing.

I have my gurl in a 3.5 gallon drink tub and she is taking 3/4 of a gallon every 2.5 days. Will probably be at 2 days soon as she starts to wilt pretty substantially by mid day.

So the theory here is less water will promote flowering. Something along the lines of reducing nitrogen, starving new growth and makes the plant think oh-oh I better get budding here. I think all plants are going to look good with water. You would need to testing to compare results with different amounts of water towards the end. I think there could be something to it, if done properly.
