Happy birthday! From me and the girls😃

We just got done with the start of their LST this week and then both the girls got some core pruning and all around defoliation. We have finally come to terms with a watering schedule and they seem ready for a drink tomorrow

What an awesome day in the land of Highrule. I hate to set expectations and then have the universe flip them bitches on your head but I am certain of one thing, this growing thing is feckin awesome! I hope the girls and I can go the distance. 20 years ago in the little ass where I grew up, the good bud was still only a fairy tail in our music and my monthly edition of high times. I’d dream of having my own garden someday :grin::grin: gah I think it’s time for bed. I’ve been up since 430 am at lights on. (Just realized, why have I not changed to to 4:20 am yet???) Sticky and stinky sweet ganja dreams to you all! :potted_plant::dash::fire::green_heart::peace_symbol::call_me_hand::pray::vulcan_salute::fist:

Growers note: Full defoliation with a focus on center mass reduction for both girls is complete and the most intense round of LST has been started today. New configuration and the addition of a third smart circulation fan has greatly improved air flow making humidity and temperature levels much more stable. New focus has been taken to maintain a 50-55% RH now that PC is strong into heavy bud formation. This is to try and stay ahead of any mildew or mold issues which the sour diesel is known for. My concern was piqued about this because 2 days ago when appreciating a close up of PC bouquet, I definitely got the distinct aroma of damp/mold/mildew, even if it was just a slight note at the end of the whiff. Who knows if it’s just the way the lady smells or if I’m onto something it better safe than sorry. Even though I have done a close inspection of PC, I I haven’t seen anything yet. I used some of bergs mold prevention the other evening at lights out so

The girls got half gallon each of water treated for 6.7 pH. My light meter arrived and I am glad I got it as my suspicion was correct and the girls were getting way more light than was needed. From what I’ve read a maximum of 70k lux is required. Near the center of the light was putting out over 94k lux and that was with me having it dialed back to 94% aleady. It is now set at 84% and I raised the lights about 10% as well. It was a cheap light meter and I have seen some say they are not reliable, so any advice would be most welcome

Quick update here… More LST with reinstalling the net. Fan maintenance and ventilation system cleaning today. I’m seeking advice on the longevity and proper cleaning techniques if needed for the carbon filter. I have a lot of fine dust in this old house that makes it into my system.

I did just swap out a brand new pre filter…

And here’s the girls today…

GG is making huge progress. This her just two days after big pruning and she’s already bigger than she was before that :person_shrugging:

And problem child is going to be smaller than her sister but she is way more developed… Now she’s packing on the bulk…

Side note the girls seem to love the changes that have been made to the light intensity

Feeding this morning… My runoff was hot AF ppm was 2100+ and EC was even higher… Hope it doesn’t get any hotter I think just water next two feeds. I did some major pruning again on GG. Also pruned some low fruit off of PC. I’m going to dry a little bit of the most developed for some taste testing. I have learned so much already that I wish I could do over some of my pruning decisions but that just means the next run should be that much better. Even so they look pretty cool from underneath. I love the little baby bonsai esque trunks

Problem child…

GG

This is day 15 since the official flip… My best guess was that problem child started flowering about three weeks early but who knows. I was even greener than I am now and I thought everything was all just pre flower until she really started looking different from GG :person_shrugging::vulcan_salute::peace_symbol::green_heart::fist::potted_plant::fire::dash::call_me_hand:

The girls and I have been “working out” all morning!!! I train them tough so they will grow up big and strong! Sockets make the perfect dumbbells for LST. Our plutonic ménage à trois is loving the continuous improvement to the setup and knowledge that I am gaining, hopefully, everyday. I feel the symbiosis, and it is awesome :sunglasses: I was slightly panicked about hot runoff yesterday but I think they will be ready for another water tomorrow and I will give them water until the buckets seep. Then take a reading and see where we are at.

I will take a few close up shots of PC’s bud development when I check the tent later before work…

Here’s a couple money shots…

I am quickly coming to the conclusion that I need to get a mobile AC unit for the garden if I want to keep using the vs4000 in the tent. I am really struggling getting the amount of light I need, the correct humidity levels all while keeping my VPD in the 1.0-1.5.

Also coming to the conclusion that this first harvest, ganja gods permitting, is not going to be a cost saving endeavor.

Interesting Jay  I will have more info tomorrow when I test runoff from straight water. I also forgot to check pH so hopefully that’s fine. The girls appear to be doing fine but I like to be on top of things

@Jaysittinback or anyone else who knows, what can I use to lower the ppm of my tap water? Or is that even necessary?

Brita filter or RO filter. If your ppm is around 200 or less probably ok… I gather from seeing this subject a few times. Should know your tap water’s ppm and look into it. Just make sure you add/subtract it in your ppm readings.
