I have been lurking and reading for more than a month now. I figure it’s time to start my own journal because my passion and quest to learn as much as I can is growing almost as fast as my two pretty ladies. This is my first grow ever. I found ILGM on the interwebs beginning of January and bought a 20 pack of Sour Diesel Photos that went into the soil on 1-21-23. I started with blurple light from Walmart, quickly deemed that wholly insufficient and ordered a vivosun 4’x2’ tent with the vs1000. All with the smart hub controls (so sweet to be able to monitor garden while at work) All was well until I realized the inadequacy of that light to take what was at the time 3 plants to flower. I may have over ordered and bought a vs4000. Literally 4 times bigger than the vs1000 I struggled with heat at first but thankfully when I did order the 4000 I bought another “smart” ductile fan. The two of those fans working in unison have proven more than effective at keeping the air flow and temps stable. During the midst of all this before I started using the vs4000 I somehow accidentally switched the light spectrum setting back to seedling mode. This is a guess but I figure they were in that mode for at least 3 weeks. I think as a consequence this was the reason that one of my girls started to flower before I made the switch from a 18/6 to a 12/12 photo period. So I decided to switch to flower mode about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Now the girls are about 8 days I to flower after the flip and going strong. I’m using organic Walmart soil and Bergman’s nutes. I have been balancing and monitoring ppms as well as dechlorinating my city water. Any tips, tricks and advice is appreciated and welcome.
Here’s a few pics … I had more from the beginning of the grow but somehow I sent files to a hidden folder and now cannot find them anywhere. The one heavy into flower is Problem child and her sister Golden girl aka GG are happy to meet you…
Please comment or tag yourself whatever you need to do to tag along. (Idk, I’m still a noob, but smart enough to admit it) This is going to be a perpetual grow and I’d love to have you all come along. Tell your friends!
I hope you all don’t mind the tag… You’ve all helped me in some way since I joined the forum and I’d love the help and advice growing from here… If you know any other peeps who would enjoy a newbie ride along with us feel free to tag them here… The more the merrier
Good morning and thanks for tagging along RoG I’m letting the girls stay in their own little world this morning but planning to disturb for some bud forming porn shots before I go to work
Good morning and welcome growmies! I was reading along in newts journal last night when he mentioned this book as part of his self taught ganja Jedi training school. (I’m only a little over halfway through lol) I immediately bought the kindle version with plans of buyimg the current 4th edition physical copy soon. I have read all of Jorge Cervantes’ material but that was 15+ years ago when LEDs were pretty much unobtainium. I have been bitten by the bud bug. Developing bud porn coming later this morning after a bike ride…
And here is the future of High-rule! No second tent yet but this will be ok for a few weeks until I can get that situated… The clone on the left had no rooting hormone and the one on the right did. The one on the right is 1 day younger and already doing better. Twas just an experiment before I picked up the rooting hormone. I don’t think she’s going to make it. What began as a proof of concept and feasibility for my current living situation is quickly becoming a passion aka obsession lol
Here’s some close ups of problem childs bud development. GG is about 3 weeks behind her sister and just about to show some baby hedgehogs… I might wait another day for water nutrients… Next group of flower girls are getting the five gallon woven plastic bags from rain science. I’d like to see more of a wet then dry cycle but this is what I had this grow around. I have been wondering if it’s to late and/or unnecessary to top any of these buds at this point in time? I haven’t done any pruning other than defoliation, especially on GG. That lady is vigorous!
For my own records this is only day ten after the official flip to flower mode
Problem child showing off to her less developed sister!! But she is a beauty!
I am having such a blast with this whole experience. The genetics from ILGM and help from this forum is making this newbies garden flourish. All of the hard work that you all put into your own gardens and then the time it takes to document and share with all of us is priceless. Thanks again y’all. I hope you have an awesome day.
