I didn’t see a section for this so feel free to chastise me if this is out of line. I was wondering if curing in a wooden box might work? I have some early buds drying in a little cedar box now just for a test. It already smells nice but who knows?
We try to not do that here.
You can dry where ever you want so long as you maintain proper drying conditions with temps ~70F and humidity around 60%.
How’s this? Average is just under 60% but it does swing. This is in my drying room I’ve been testing, and this chart is the last week. Do you think this swings too much? I’m prepping lol, looks like I’ll get a good harvest so this time I want to do it right. I can keep the temperature right where I want it but if that humidity swing is too much I’m not sure what I can do about that.

Looks like it is maintaining close to 60 RH for the most part. I’m not sure that I would worry about temporary excursions +/- 10 points.
Good airflow can help stabilize RH.

There’s no draft yet in my drying room but I have one ready if I need it, but I would rather not if I don’t have to. I’ve broken a few branches while tending, so I have a few branches drying in there now for practice lol. I should have it set right by the time I properly harvest. I’m thinking conditions in there will change a lot when lots of herb is hanging. My first indoor harvest I tried to dry in my workshop with zero climate control. It rained that entire week. That crop tasted like wet hay with a little grapevine crumble mixed in for 6 months.
Drying should be complete after 7 to 10 days if conditions are right.
It’s best to cure as long as possible, but I’ve found that weed is smokable after the first 2 weeks of cure. I cure my flower for a month and then put it in long-term storage.
