@MidwestGuy sterile manure bag for fruiting in?
Ordering one today, for the second attempt.
It’s 75% colonized, but hasn’t really progressed much beyond that, so I think that’s all I’m going to get.

So wipe the tote down with alcohol, mix in manure 50:50 grain, then wait?
Air flow required for fruiting? Or keep the lid on?

Yes, airflow for fruiting. You want the tub sealed when you are colonizing the bulk mix.

How long after mixing, and colonizing then allowing air flow?

When the bulk becomes fully colonize. It’s difficult to pin down a timeframe if your spawn isn’t fully colonized. The more spawn you add to the bulk substrate, the quicker it will colonize. It usually takes 2 weeks for my bulk spawn cakes to colonize when the mix is 50/50.

It should look like this when it is ready to fruit. The more white, the better.

Seems reasonable, I’ll keep watch. Just need some shrooms, because I think they would be extremely beneficial for me right now.

I’ll order the substrate, and I’ll mix it as soon as it shows. Then wait of course. I really appreciate your help.

Hey @Covertgrower can you dm me?

for me, i waited nearly 2 weeks before they popped, thought they ended being a dud. right before rhey did, i noticed a bunch of little tiny balls (almost like mini spider egg sac looking) and then a couple days kater they sprouted. i found this little picture to help determine i was seeing the “button stage”. just keep the schedule you create and wait it out. as long as there are no bad colors or smells, youre doing it right.

Myco porn! Good looking tub!

So we grow shrooms and we grow weed. Which is worse, waiting for full colonization, or waiting for trochome heads to go from cloudy to full opaque?

I vote trichomes. They are less predictable. Waiting for colonization can somewhat be controlled with spore/grain ratio or spawn/bulk ratio.

I’m not sure that many would agree with me. Growing shrooms can be hard.

I do. Midwestguy…I do.

I’m on my second attempt… there are some challenges… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Nice looking plates right there what strain?

Full colonization hands down there’s no reason to sweat any contamination growing herb where as we all know in growing shrooms there’s always the possibility of tams and then all of our hard work becomes all for not YEAH!!!

What’s happening Midwest you have any tubs going on right now? I’ve been slacking big time I have a dozen jars ready to go but can’t seem to find the time to put it all together. UGH with the long weekend coming up I’ll be back at it the reserves are getting low!!

I don’t. I harvested a couple flushes from 2 tubs last month. I only microdose (0.3g every other day,) so I don’t use a whole lot. I’ve got 2 big Ball jars that are full of dried shrooms. I’m probably grow out a couple more tubs at some point this coming Winter.
