When you go to do your transfer make at least 2 plates for each quadrant you are gonna take from. If you can make 3 from quadrants 1 and 2. Label everything so you can track which ones do what.
Cut a sliver from the leading edge of each quadrant about the size of a grain of rice. If everything comes out clean store in a fridge up to 6 months. After that, SPAWN RUN!

Is white fuzz on the surface of the substrate normal when growing? I just mixed the spawn jar and substrate and poured it in the bag about 5? Days ago.
One of the kernels is sticking up from the surface of the substrate, that’s the one with the white fuzz growing on top.

I almost forgot, after transfers, use remaining mycelium materials to innoculate jars of grain, use varied sizes of wedge from the plate to get a feel for how much you need, which isnt much. You can use a silver dollar sized piece or a tiny grain of rice sized piece for innoculations. The bigger the wedge the faster the colinization of the jar. You can also use a colinized quart of grain to innocultate up to 10 addtl quarts of spawn, dont do this more then twice. (I.E. innoc plate, innoculate jar, innoculate jar with other jar, then again. Making 1 jar into 100 jars of spawn. Any more then this will make your mycelium long in the tooth which can affect overal yield once spawned to bulk. I wasnt kidding weeks ago when i said a single drop from a multispore syringe is enough to innoculate the world.

All that moisture in there has potential to create a contam. Use press and seal reynolds wrap and attach it all the way around the sides of the petri dish to help prevent condinsation while storing or incubating. When you pour your own plates you will want to stack them infront of the flow from your “hood”. On top of the stack place a coffee cup with warm liquid in it and allow whole thing to cool infront of flow for 4-6 hrs.
