I have 4 plants under it
Keep it all the way up brother. Donât be afraid to run that light full tilt.
Set that light around 15 inches above the canopy and let her rip full power.
Really?
Yes sir! Full tilt! Trust me on it. @Flipdawg08 @JJ520 @CooterJuice @Tylersays all have the Scorp D. Look at their grows. Give them plants full power.
You seem too confident to be wrong haha. Will wind her up tomorrow and see how she goes
Autoflower?
Yes sir
Watch for an increase in uptake of magnesium. Just an fyi. Keep em healthy and that light will put it to them
HLG recommends veg 24" and flower @18" and using it at full power without CO2 added is mainly running up your electric bill. I have one and it is a phenomenal light but is probably overkill for most growers, including myself. I have 3 other HLGâs and like them all.
@The_Chef is right @Bjg full tilt buddy , thats what i do through flower then just adjust height as time goes on towards end of flower
Thereâs a big misconception between ppfd and co2. c02 is needed if your temperatures exceed 85° , which is absolutlely possible with the Scorp D if your air flow and ventilation arenât up to snuff. Iâve never reached 85° at the canopy, in either of my tents during grows.
Your plants do not need c02 supplementation as long as your temps are under that threshold. I hammer my lights full tilt for penetration purposes to avoid larf and or popcorn.
Even adding c02 to your tent will do nothing because the stomata on the leaves isnât in duress because the temps arenât a factor.
I have no doubt thatâs why HLG put that provision on this light. Technically yes at full tilt you would need c02 if itâs just the lights and plants inside a grow space with no ventilation. Temps would definitely exceed 85°
interesting⌠its currently winter here and temps dont exceed 80F in the tent but come summer time theyll get to 90. i have ac but i donât like to run it
Get a floor unit just for the room youâre growing in? I use one all through the winter as well. If I donât pump cold air in the tent through my intake fans from the room. My temps will go crazy high. If I can keep the temps in the room around 68 to 70 degrees. My tent stays stable between 77 and 79. When the lights go out the AC goes out with them. Night time temps range from 68 to 74 degrees.
Iâve got a mini split in the room the tent is in so no dramas keeping temps down just the cost of running it constantly in summer. The plants have reacted well to the extra light theyâre all most thanking me, theyâre pumping just hitting there stretch now and stacking up perfectly going to be some big rods on this one
Donât hesitate to post some pics of your girls my friend. We all love plant , root, and trich porn around here.
I hear you on running the AC. I have no choice but to though. If youâre in winter see what you can do to pull some of that cold air in. During summer run your lights during the dark period(evening and night). It all helps.
If you donât mind me asking. Where in the world is it still winter?
yeah i still run it on heating in winter just to keep it at a minimum 20C overnight and the winter air keeps the tent at an average of 25C and max 27C during lights on.

Your plants are beautiful brother! They look like theyâre loving that light. Nice work my friend!
