Could I use a light with a 4 x 4 footprint in a bigger room?

A question from a fellow grower:

I’m just on the fence about growing. If I was to have a grow light with a 4 x 4 footprint, could I use it in a bigger room? Say 8 x 8?

R u useing leds or hps lights

You might be able to use it for a larger area, but the intensity would suffer and then the yield could suffer. In general you need about 50 watts per square foot.

this is one option but will not double your space will add maybe 30% with about 10-15% yield increase max. They work quite well in veg though
