I should of paid more attention in electrical class :anguished: Can any one tell me if this controller

Or can I use a rheostat controller if not?

Had a similar question. See thread:

Not sure if the box above will work. @dbrn32 May be a solution for me as well.

For this kind of $$ @RAP maybe you might consider variable speed duct fans, or are you looking for additional air movement? In that case I use a couple of good 4" fans in the tent attached under my SCROG. My duct fans are both variable (Input and exhaust) and I have an additional 8" fan mounted high in my tent I run when the lights are on.

This fan has a temp/RH sensor and can control an additional fan. I don’t have this model but will when my others need replaced.

I have no idea what kind of motor is on the fan. I’m guessing it already has a solid state controller that may have to be disconnected in order to work, if it was going to work at all

@Reticence Thanks, I already have that fan in “S” version and 6" for the exhaust. I am looking to be able to control the air movement fan if necessary. I was only asking because I already have the Active Air fan controller. Do you have a link to the 4" fans you are using for air movement?

The 4" fans were a local buy. I got one from Amazon, but they were beyond cheap! In a local Meijer store, (like Walmart only no half eaten sandwiches on shelves etc. ), I found a couple that were pretty heavy. I run them non-stop. One facing back and one forward. The upper fan is a Honeywell in the upper rear center facing forward that only runs when the lights are on.

a Hurricane dealer said this…

Q: Can I use a speed controller with this fan?
A: No, this fan comes with a 3-speed controller built in. Adding an external speed controller will void the warranty and cause the fan to fail prematurely.

maybe try their 12’’ wall mount model if u think the 16’’ is going to be too much.!
