Continual Grow With Autos? More Production?

Anybody ever try starting a new auto-flower every two to three weeks in a small tent so that you have 5 or 6 plants at various stages all of the time? It seems like you would get more production and have fresh bud all the time.

In theory it is a good idea. But once you have to start making 4 or 5 different batches of nutrients for differing stages, you will probably wish you did them all at the same time. Or at least did 3 and then half way through do the other 3 wouldn’t be to bad…

Perpetual grow! Start 2 every 4 weeks. Much also depends on how much you will use or gift.

Others go the monstercrop route with photos.

I have a 3x3 tent in my shed and it’s not well insulated so I’m shutting down through winter.

This season I scrogged a gold leaf and 2 sets of autos all in a 3x3 tent. I also grew a gorilla glue outdoors. I have a pretty good reserve right now!

@bob31 I will use as much as I can get  ! I have nothing right now :frowning: . lol

I don’t think I can grow over the summer, so I want to maximize the time I have left before then. Plus, right now all I have are auto seeds. Next fall it will definitely be photos using SCROG.

@bob31 Forgot to mention, I just put two into paper towels and have come to the same conclusion. Two at a time. I get what @Ron330 is saying.

Here is my thinking, if your goal is 6 plants, you will have to wait until the first ones are done before you can think of growing more past 6 anyways. Some where in waiting a month for 2 each, somewhere along the way you lose 3 months of growing time (lose 1 month each on 2nd and 3rd sets of plants, lose 2nd month on 3rd set).

If you weren’t going to stop, perpetual grow is a good thing, but with knowing you have to stop, the months we get are golden… But whatever you decide, you have our support and a follower to see how things go :v:

I did this with photo’s 2 years ago I had a veg tent 600w mh and a flower room 11’x8’ with 1000w Hps on light rail after 3 months I had steady rotation of clones and plants which I added 1 weekly and harvested 1 was nice until I had 17 plants in flower and the spider mites made my life hell :rage:

I did 4 different grows this year. Phase 1 started with 2 seeds per 5 different strains (total of 10) Phase 2 started a month later with 3 seeds per 3 strains(9 more). Phase 3 started another month later with another 6. Phase 4 I added 5 more (but added 10 clones). I have grown autos and fems this year.

@bob31 It’s hilarious how timid I was when I started, afraid of hurting the plants, afraid of getting caught…Now it brings me peace.

@bob31 always an adventure, so many different things to try, ways to grow, and I only have 29,492 more strains to try :star_struck:

I know guys right! I thought I’d heard every strain imagineable and then two days later I read a grow journal with a strain I never heard of. I of course need to go straight to Leafly and learn about it’s lineage and medical benefits. Which reminds me one of the guys recommended green crack to me. That name cracks me up. Lol  I keep meaning to go learn more. I wanna do that one before I pass out!

I run a perpetual grow…
3 different flower tables in one room with a 600 watt hps air cooled hood over each table…
I run each table about 3 weeks apart give or take a week… and try to harvest every 3 weeks give or take a week… lol

It’s alot of work…

You have to be very comitted…

Also Everything has to be dialed in for this to work like clock work… also you must have at least grown your strains for 2 years to be able to understand them and know how they will perform…
But it really takes 3 years to get a strain into production or to be able to grow perpetually…
Seeds , auto’s , not having everything dialed in…
It will be an interesting adventure for you…
Keep us posted …
Good vibes fellow cultivator…
:v: :sunglasses:

Wow! So many approaches, so little time, but very cool.

This would all be more tolerable (fun even) if I wasn’t dry and nothing to be found. I could go on the medical plan, but holy cow is it expensive! I have spent close to $1,250 now and still, if I ever get it right, it will pay for itself fast. On the medical plan I figure it would cost a minimum of $2,400 a year! But whatever, it is better than going down the opioid path. I would rather have pain than an opioid addiction.

It’s doable. Nutes , mix a complete batch from start to finish. Autos don’t need much feeding so you’re good for quite awhile. Put the plant type and date it broke ground on the pot so you know what to feed it.

Light is easy, you don’t have to change that. Temp and humidity don’t change. So, just watch the leaves for any problem, feed on schedule for the plants age and just keep harvesting.

Perpetual grow are good @bob31 has you on right track with time frames @peachfuzz makes. Afew good points as well
I also feel @Ron330 is on piont it’s a lot of extra work
But will pay off
You’ll also need thre spreads spaces one for seedlings one for veg and a third for flower ?
I have three tents and grow year round
With autos it can be a little easier since they grow so fast :+1: @Medforme
Happy growing

I think we are all a little nuts when you consider a perpetual is caring for plants all in different stages with different needs before venturing into it make sure to know your strains have environment mastered. The less variables the easier I run 3 light rotation and with 5 strains I have learnt few good lessons schedules go out the window if you mix strains some strains are fussy so running a single strain several times will give you best improvements, space is a premium be prepared to cull or expand variety though the spice of life can be royal PITA add a Jack herer to a mix of PK and watch her stretch lmao she suddenly takes the space of 2-3 plants
