Yes: -40 soak for 4 hours separate then combined and shaken every minute for ten minutes. The leftover material is used for full spectrum extract.

You should read those articles and/or view the youtube videos ichiban has for sure. But @Myfriendis410 has you covered. I plan on following his method for dababble oil.

DIY Vacuum Still Component List
This is a loose list of components for the DIY Vacuum Still project. Some I have used and some
I have not personally used but think they look appropriate.

I think almost anything that is safe and NOT an open flame can work. One from a garage sale or
from a friend can keep the budget lower. I like the IH because of safety and the low profile but
they add expense and the LV used with it must be IH compatible.

Pots from the cupboard will work fine. Non-stick surfaces work the best. The most important
consideration here is that the LV fits to the middle of the seating area of the LVL seal. Below
are just the ones I tried and worked. There are tons of options for this piece.
Stainless Steel can work with the addition of boiling beads. The combination of IH tech,
stainless, and boiling beads can work at a pretty fast rate.

FOR COMING OFF THE LV:
These are very stout tubing and won’t bend at quick angles so plan lengths and
setup accordingly. The “Tubing 90-degree splicer 3/8 to 3/8” recommended in the
“additional equipment” section below can help with this.
Silicone Tubing (peroxide cured)

This tubing is not as stout so please read the important note below.
Tygon 3/8 ID
Tygon 2475 Smooth Bore High Purity PVC Tubing - 3/8"
SKU: ACG00027-5
$18/5ft
Important note: I’ve used this tubing a lot without problem coming off the LV and other
connections without issue for a while. However, I am at 5,000’ elevation so I don’t have
a problem with it. If using at sea level and running hotter temp it may be a problem and
one of the more stout options above will work better for you…

Build your own option: Most cost effective to start with

  1. uses a cooler you already have or a cheap styrofoam one.
  2. fill with ice bath or combination ice bath with dry ice assist.
  3. submerge coil/tubing in ice bath for cooling.

Use 20-50 feet of any 3/8” ID tubing from the transfer tubing list.

but I haven’t concentrated on testing the differences.

@Caligurl

Thank you very much for posting the QWET instructions.

I decarbed about an ounce of Sticky Icky(gorilla glue #4 x Animal Cookies), Daiquiri, zeppoli and a few nice chunks of bubble hash.

Followed your updated directions… Evaporating now.
I stuck the handle of my strainer into the spout of our tea pot to hold it.
I did two coffee filters after the cheese cloth.

I forgot to take pics, but the outcome was super clear honey colored.

Didn’t care for the smell of the decarbed bud. The original bud was great and all great terps… But decarbed bud… Ick.

Have it evaporating like your instructions… In the basement.

Will check it tomorrow and the next day. And update with a pic or two.

Thank you once again! It was sooooo simple. Annnnd Everclear is cheap and easily to find here.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Coolio! Glad it’s working. Yes, don’t decarb the weed you are going to smoke it… also some don’t decarb the weed but wait until you evap all then decarb the concentrate.

Planning to use Everclear to wash de-carbed buds.
Pre-warmed Quart jar, half filled, canning lid ready for end of process sealing.
Then using titrate of THC/Grain Alcohol, make Kaluha for morning coffee addition.

Anybody ever Vacuum-extract all possible air from jars before oven routine?
That brings to mind the question of processing (curing weed) using vacuum extraction until 65%?
Still learning interesting techniques for enjoying my grow.

I’ve never even heard of vacuuming out the air from the jars. What is the reason for that?

Just asking, but no experience with it.
Today I cooked this 5oz from the fall harvest.
2-oz buds and 3 oz shake (kief mined shake).

Jars Vac sealed from oven cook, as should (pings heard and felt).
Rings sealed and in the freezer.
Saw some residue on inside moisture or oil?
Everclear from freezer went to Kaluha cook.
Another Everclear chilling for bud wash.
PNW weather today WET and raining.
Me inside, dry, and surprisingly productive.
Smoking the Kief and having Jerry’s coffee.

Are you leaving buds whole while you’re cooking it, or do you break it down?

Left these whole (two jars). The shake jar was kief mined.
Not sure best method for proceeding so any advice is appreciated.
I would crumble buds before washing and ultimately tea or brownies, or the Kahlua.
Probably Freezer to NINJA blender and filtering. No need to crumble, Thoughts?

My unit grinds the flower during its process

Don’t grind it. Just break down by hand until large rice grain size (or a little more). This keeps the trichomes intact and it’s easier to strain.

Awseome… I could get a two-fer…
Give one to my wife and use it when she is not home. WIN-WIN
Thanks.
@Caligurl so you say, small, small nuggets. Got it, thank you.

Here I am sharing an interesting topic about "The Impact of Legalization on Medical Marijuana Businesses . Please take a look and let me know your point of view.

Welcome @Find420!

Just my 2 cents and mainly from what I see here in Cali (legal recreational).

All the regulations, taxes, license and permit fees, lab testing, etc… make it hard for the little guys to compete. Corners are cut and dispos are (knowingly AND unknowingly) purchase products that haven’t been inspected or passed lab tests and regulations. a LOT of studies have been done taking samples directly from dispos in every legal state and they are finding too many illegal pesticides and fungicides.

So pay more for ‘safe or organic’ products… if you can find them…or do what we do here and grow your own!!! At least you know whats in/on it!

I looked into starting an edibles ‘bakery/cafe’ and I had to be currently renting (or own) the property on which I want to apply for a permit for for at least 1 year. THEN, if I was granted the permit, had to wait another full year (at that location) to get the license (IF I even got the license)… that’s 2 full years of paying for a location that I may or may not be able to even get to operate on… For a SMALL space around here, you can pay around $10,000/month for a space… that $240,000 in an EMPTY space.

I thought about using that space, instead , for a growers/hydroponics store until then but that would take a lot of additional capital to stock it and then pay at least one staff person.

So now I know why people cut corners and dispos buy illegal pot. And I also know why I grow my own. I’ll just have to settle for making my own edibles and giving away (not selling) to others.

Thank you, so much.
I now feel better about all the pursuit of good weed.

Absolutely, a magical plan.
