CMH vas HPS during flowering

I have all ways used my for vet and HPS for flowering. Now I hear of CMH. Anyone know if this yeilds like HPS in flowering or any detail

good question. i wonder too.

what’s the significance of this new ceramic light

I use 315 CMH lights love them… very good yields. I think 1 315 cmh can do what a 600 wat hps can do while using less power. Plus they are a nice spectrum to work in. Ive used Cmh and hps together as well which worked good.

What’s your average yeild off CMH 315

I think @garrigan62 is using lec also?

Hello. Sorry for the delayed reply. I have been using them for over a year, first grow with them was plagued by bugs of many kinds and other environmental factors that severely decreased my yields. I dont even count that as a grow, just a war that i lost lol. Fast forward to my last grow with them, minimum training, veg time and attention, 5 gallon pots, and the light was a little to far away since i was getting a feel for them, 4 oz per plant with 4 plants got me a pound. Fast forward again to my grow that im halfway through harvesting, im guessing i easily doubled my yield per plant grown and flowered under cmh lights. Havent got any weights, they just got cut and hung last night but i will keep you updated. I did however weight up a nug, 2 oz wet, bigger then a soda can.
And thats just the upper part of the nug, that last bit hanging off wasnt registering on my small scale.

They are good for flowering and vegging. I have a full tent that was vegged under 630 watts of cmh, and then flowered under 495 watts of china led. Nice rock hard buds cuz the node spacing was tight being vegged under cmh. The china led i have arent the best, but sure can pick up the pace where the cmh left off. Will update this post for you with the total dry weights.

@Dr.DankThumb420 what was your gram/watt?

is this 1 pound from 4 plants wet weight?

Cmh has higher efficacy than standard hps. It’s more inline with something like a de gavita. The test data I’ve seen on them has Phillips bulb at like 1.7-1.9 umol/joule. A fresh 600 watt hps bulb will be around 1.3-1.4 umol/joule.

They don’t quite have the par output of a 600, but they’ll knock a 400 right in the dirt. You’ll get a little more photosynthetically efficient light spectrum with cmh too.

With the 315 cmh and 600 watt marshydro ( 132 actual watts)447 watts… Added in hps first week of flower to induce a little stretch, then turned off till last 2 weeks of flower just to add weight so im not factoring it in. 447 watts of light got me 448 grams of dry weed.

Pretty sure CMH is one of the best HID lights on the market right now, I know they are yielding higher .

For the record, I was comparing to 600 watt hps. Your 315 is a much better light than the mars 600.

I still think that wave length is the most important thing that is being overlooked here… just me tho…
I’m really hoping I can run my winter project before I have to move… 400 watt mh at 6500 Kelvin and 600 watt hps at 4500 kelvin , both magnetic ballist in my 8 inch ducted xxxl hoods… :grin:
I’m thinking 5 lbs or better… from a 6 plant , 3 ‘x 6’ double scrogg table… :grin:

:v::sunglasses:

Yeah i know bro i was replying to @basementstealth 2 questions above yours. I forgot to mention about half the leds went out midway through flower, so the mars was pulling less then the 132 true watts.

Like random leds burned out, or like one half of the board?

At first i wanna say it was a few random ones, then half the board was suddenly not working @dbrn32

Probably had a driver take a dump.

Probably. Ill rebuild it someday with some strips or something. Future grow will be 3 cmh 315 again but with added 1000w double ended hps and a air cooled 1000w hps thrown in the mix all together @dbrn32

Plants will like that!
