I am going to clone and usually I do them a certain way. I would like to know how everyone else clones their plants.
cut, trim, rooting hormone, Great White stick them in coco
do you cover them and put under light? or leave them in the dark.
I like to use jiffy pucks and a propagator or solo cups with soil and a propagator with the pucks ill soak them in water/clonex solution then make a 45° cut on the cutting dip it in clonex then into the puck or soil i always make sure there are atleast 2 nodes sites under the medium as in my experience alot of roots pop out at the node sites where branching use to be i also cut all leafs that are left behind in half as this will help the plant to pop roots impo the more leaf martial on the plant the longer it takes to root due to the plant pulling nutrients from the leags ragher than focusing on popping new roots to uptake nutrients ill keep my propagator at 80-100% rh at all times and they go under a light thats not to intense as i still want as much photosynthesis to take place as the plants can handle so they dont just die off
Note: for the soil and solo cups its the same process i just use the same water/clonex solution to moisten the soil fully before placing the cuttings in the soil
Sometimes I’ll use Roots and dip them in that then into a jiffy or small plant starter pot. Other times I will just drop them in a jar of bottled water and put them near my window in my office! Depends how many I’m taking. But ya, cut all leaves in half as @LiesGrows does. Have some now going both ways! And 2 seeds with tails just planted an hour ago too!
I just clip them and throw them in dirt in solo cups. Clear covered by a solo of color once I see roots they go to 1 gallon grow bags.
Below you can see a couple in cups but most have made it to the grow bags now.
I had to cut some clones off my plant, I know they are little. I am just experimenting, I put some Bergmans seedling booster in water the put the cuttings in the water. 4 to 6 weeks hopefully roots will develop!
@Dreamer I would cut all the tips of the leaves in half. It sends a signal that the leaves can’t be relied upon to produce energy…leaves basically calling “medic!” so the plant looks for it’s only other source of energy…its roots. Which it has none. So it starts developing them.
Otherwise, good on ya! Looks like 6 (or 7). Nice size. Give them 2 or 3 weeks, they’ll be ready for dirt!
I have to plant my clones done the same way today. I think out of a dozen, maybe 7 are ready. And then tonite I start another 2 jars when I thin out my ladies!
