Great smell has more to do with the genetics and proper drying and curing, specially not letting the buds get too dry, once under 58RH or so a lot of terpens will evaporate off and there goes the great smell. I’d get a humidifier more for the drying. I dry at 65-67F and 60RH and my buds are ready for dry trimming in 6-7 days generally, then I do the slow dry process in CVaults til the buds stabilize at around 62RH (opening container for a bit every day to drive off some mositure), then into mason jars or grove bags.
Check out the grove bags if you haven’t yet, makes for a nice cure (and taste and smell).
