Hi everyone, I’m wondering if I can use my LED stage lights as grow lights. They have different color options and are quite bright.
Hey @GrowKush i bet you can get some growth from them. Not sure how intense they are. That’s the trick to get some good enough bud to consume.
Here’s a light map of a $70 light from Amazon that can do a basic grow through flower.

Thanks for the advice Late Night!
If rescources and space aren’t an issue, meaning if you’re willing to use a test dummy seed, I say go for it. Just watch for heat, those suckers got hot AF
Right on!
I appreciate the recommendation!
Not sure when he is usually around but as a they are a moderator you likely wont have to wait long.
As long as intensity is high enough they should work. You’ll want to watch having too much red early in grow though, red wavelengths and weak intensity will makes plants stretch.
Duly noted. I have a few Maui Wowie seeds. I may grow a plant underneath these lights to see how they do. I will be careful not to use red.
Some red is good. You just don’t want to be mostly red light while plants are in veg. Once they transition to flower is less of concern and red light is good development.
If my KINGled 1500w light has a veg and a flower switch. Can you use them both at same time with this wedding cake auto. I’ve been running the blueish purple light (veg switch) 20/4 light schedule. Light was at 24” above plant but noticed edges of a couple leaves were clicking a little so I brought the light all the way to the top of my tent to see if there were changes. When I go switch the lights back on I’ll look again. Was just wondering if this is normal or if it was light related
Great advice. Thanks dbm!
You would use only veg during veg and both during flower
What does that mean?
I’m not sure what my autocorrect was trying to say and I don’t remember what I was trying to say. Hahaha. Smoke another one Jonesy. Ever forget what you were saying? Happen to me.
I definitely know that all to well!
All the time.
Did my LST and FIM yesterday. Cranked her down. She’s already turned back up towards the light! I can’t thank y’all enough for your guidance along the way! Looking forward to growing (pun intended) with this community🤪
Should I tie the main stalk down a little more since she’s flipped back up in a few days or should I leave the main and work on the side branches once they develop more? I’ve read mixed things about FIMing but this is my first ever grow so I figured I would play with this one a little bit. Let me know what y’all think please.
I’d keep pulling her over - once her stalk is sufficiently horizontal, you can start tying her out around the outer edges of the pot. Somewhere out there is an aspirational training guide of a spiral - idea being if you train her in a circle out around the outside of the pot, each set of nodes actually has the opportunity to become mains with a good amount of light coverage.
