Question: if I wanted to make your gummy recipe a little less ‘chewy’, what would you recommend? I don’t want to start reducing gelatin without knowing what I’ll end up with.

Yes, you can reduce the gelatin… I’d try small amounts of reduction each time until you reach your desired chewiness (LOL)… what I’ve noticed is that there is a fine line… if you don’t get enough gelatin, then they just end up sticky. I add a little more because we do like ours a little chewy.
and, yes, I do have a light over it… believe it or not it’s just one of these:
Plus, I have it on a pet heating pad because it’s so cold in our house right now. I’m stubborn and I hate turning on the heater because it’s so expensive out here.
Here’s my fancy-dancy setup LOL. never anything fancy for me and y seedlings. I know everyone is big on the humidity domes but, seriously… it’s 29-35% RH in my house… I don’t even usually have them on a heater but it is really cold right now.
I need to wait a bit for the roots to really take hold, then I’ll put it in a 5-gallon fabric pot with some good cannabis soil. I’m waiting to set up the tent to make sure it turns out female.

No, the heater isn’t broken… our electric comapany is… We probably pay more for electricity than anywhere in the country. Our neighbor just told us his bill was $1100 last month. Now, he has a sick wife so he keeps the temp around 73-75. We have a 2 bed, 2 bath house and we use our wood stove mainly. Summer bills are around $600 and we are thrifty with our AC and heater.
When we wake up, the wood stove hasn’t been running for about 4 hours so it’s nice and chilly in here. Even though I’m in Cali, I’m in the foothills and it’s been snowing all week (a little unusual for here).

Hopefully it turns out to be a her LOL…Ah, California living lol. I don’t miss it.
But if I was going to live anywhere in Cali it would be either where you are or up by Mt Shasta.

I really love where we are at… only 1.5 hours to Tahoe, 2 hours from SF and 6-7 hours from L.A. Mt. Shasta is beautiful too… we could definitely live in Weed

Funny, my electric company was my enemy during the summer because my bills were $200-$250 even keeping the house around 75° (compared to my wife’s usual preference of 66-68°). This winter, natural gas prices skyrocketed so much that I won’t be complaining when my utilities go back down to $250/mo.

Holy cow! Weed has sure grown (no pun intended)! But I haven’t been there for 30 years. One of our neighbors and High School teacher bought a piece of land up there and built a house while living in a stone hut for a year. Odd guy: followed the famous Edward Abbey and took time off each summer to go cut fence and put sand in 'dozer crankcases lol. He would have been in the Earth First! movement if his wife would have let him…
We used to go to a little lake at the foot of Shasta called ‘Lake Siskiyou’. It’s the actual headwaters of the Sacramento and has Eagle lake trout in it. The river below the dam was outstanding until that train derailed and dumped 100 tanker cars of pesticide into the river. Scoured it clean. It never came back.

I love Lake Siskyou! It’s a beautiful area for sure and, yes it has grown but Weed did have a couple of fires (back to back) up there the last 2 years… sad.
