Can I just plant it directly into the ground?

A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks

I was just wondering why most of your autoflower seeds have an expected yield of <10oz when your female seeds have an average expected yield of over 30oz? I am planning to do an outdoor grow and I live in Michigan. I was wondering if you could give me some suggestions as this will be my first grow ever. Can I just plant it directly into the ground? Do I need to get specific soil?

You can plant them directly in groud if you choose to i would amend the soil first
And have a soil test done so you know what you have and are lacking in the ground soil
You can also use pots and i use promix bx which is neutral doesnt have any time release fertilizers
Any quality garden soil will work

To answer your first question
autos grow faster and will not get to the same size as your Photo plants
This is why they yield less quality is the same yield is smaller

As @Countryboyjvd1971 stated…they grow different.
Auto’s grow fastest, are shorter and produce less. Reg photo’s can grow a very long time and will have more time to flower and produce a larger harvest.
