Hello! I’m looking for direction on what I can do with my Gorrilla Glue autoflower. The canopy is so dense that NO light gets below. The growth below is dying and or sickly pale. I would like to cut out those parts that are pulling on the plant doing so poorly. The top is great. Trichomes appearing now. Not sure if it will adversly affect the girl. Thanks ahead for any answers.
Good morning and welcome to the community, so you have any pics? You mentioned in the flower stage, any early LST? Topping ect…?
Show a pic. If the light isn’t reaching lower bud sites then you need to open the plant up. Spread out the branches, defoliate and/or trim off lower branches.
also a beginner in auto flower so take my advise with a grain of salt, but but with all the advise i have got, ive heard you dont trim autoflower, check on using a scrog, dont ask mt to explain it there are plenty of people on the fourms that cant tell you exactly what and how to make one, good luck
There’s this guy on YouTube with a channel called “Mr. Canuck’s Grow”. He does a lot of autoflower grows. You name it and he does it. He grows nice plants.
I’ve heard it too. I’ve found that a lot people believe something so in their minds it’s true. That’s it. Case closed. Let’s move on.
But the truth is you can pretty much do anything to an auto that you can do to photoperiod. There’s just not as much wiggle room when you do.
how true ask 1 ques. and get 10 answers, bur will check out mr. canucks site, never thought about you tube, dont do facebook or any of that shit, thanks
The plant on the left is a seed from 10-40 years ago. It was almost dead and I was going to throw it out but decided to let it try. To my surprise it grew like crazy.I am going to take a bunch of cuttings to clone it. Then it’s going outside. That wil lgive the auto on the right some breathing room. Will that be enough to get the bottom of the plant to do better? There are a ton of buds down there but are very pale. You can see the condition of many of the leaves down there. Harvest is not too far down the road. Hope this helps getting your opinion. Thanks again!
The tent is definitely full! 1st grow? If you don’t have one, I would suggest an oscillating fan on the floor to move the air around underneath the canopy. I grow photos and autos and LST both to keep the middle and lower bud sites exposed. You are too far in to bend and tie sides down, plus no room to do that. I would defoliate some of the lower and middle leaves, do light the first round and tuck and weave the others. Give them a few days to check their reaction
Thanks for the reply. Yep…1st grow. Wasn’t expecting the second plant but there it is. I have two fans behind the plants you can’t see. LOL! And one on the floor pointing up. The one on the left is going outside in the next couple of days. I’m hopimg the extra room will allow me to do something to expose the lower growth. Thanks again and good night or day wherever you are.
Do not expect much benefit. The bottom, or even mid plant buds are far away from the light and there is not a lot of time left to develop since the plant is well into flower. Once the other plant is removed, can you possibly spread out the upper branches? Some leaf removal would be OK but you do not want to stress the plant by over doing it. How many weeks into flower is it?
Truthfully, I think you might be better off pinching off the small immature buds on the lower 2/3 of the plant. This would promote more growth of the upper buds.
Thanks for the reply. You mirrored my thoughts. Will probably do as you suggested. Looking forward to the harvest.
That is nice sized auto. Good luck with harvest
