I have a large branch that broke off one of the main stems. It had about 50-60% of my harvest on it and the tri’s aren’t cloudy yet. Is it possible to re-root it or is there no point and should I just start drying?
If it broke completly off I would dry it and lesson learned as irs hard to get a flowering clone to root and you have to wate 2 weeks before they start to root but that’s just my opinion
The white pistils are a sign of bud growth, often confused for harvest ready. It’s entirely possible for the plant to be done producing pistils before the trichs are ready. In this case, because it’s dying due to the break. It could very well still be packing weight if it had not broken. Or, you could be entirely correct and it could’ve been done anyway.
Either way, monitoring pistils can be useful. It’s just more of bud swell thing than determining harvest time. It’s common for it to still take time for trichs while done swelling, or still be producing new pistils when trichs are going amber.
I would get the branch that snapped off into the dark immediately … I wouldn’t try and reroot it , it’s going to be almost impossible at this stage of growth , not that it can’t be done , but unless you’re going to reveg the plant and then try and start a whole new plant from it it’s really not going to be worth it … you would be better off putting it in the dark and that will help the trichomes cloudy up and Amber up … just make sure that it goes into the dark from here on out while it’s drying and at the end you should at least have some decent medicine , maybe not a whole lot , but at least it will be good enough quality…
I me personally would try and tape it back on top of the branch it’s on. I did that in my last grow and the plant still grew and produced bud. Just my experience maybe next it happens I won’t be so lucky but it’s worth a try in my book. Especially if it’s 50-60% of your grow. You would have to support it by tying it to the ceiling to hold it up.
@Onlythebest79@Countryboyjvd1971@dbrn32@peachfuzz@Sirsmokes Yea, I was hoping it could be saved, but it went super limp so I trimmed and stored it in a box inside a box in the grow tent so I could eliminate the odor. I relocated it to the tent 1 day ago and as soon as I rotated the pot the branch snapped. prior to me bothering it, she had white pistils, but the whole plant could be in shock. I hit it with another dose of nutrients just in case it needed some reinforcements.
The last picture is the branch that broke when I attempted to re plant it. The rest of the plant is higher because it stretched some much without proper lighting
