Yeah, if the stem is stretched you might wanna bury stem… Depending on what lighting you are using you might wanna lower it so your plant doesnt keep stretching, and if temps are hotter they will keep stretching which is unhealthy. Can we get a picture of the plant and some more info

But not right up to the leaves as you do not want the leaves touching the soil. Sounds like you need to get the light a little closer if they are still stretching
