when you burp your jars for how long do you leave them open? I understand you do it twice a day for the first week and then 1 time per day for how long? thanks for ay info
Sort of depends on the RH in the jar. I use this for a reference:
15-20 minutes…
when in the cure zone just open up when humidity gets higher then 65?
During the first week or two, I burp them no matter what the RH. After 2 weeks, if they are in the zone, I burp once a week (just to note the smell change). No matter what, every day I make sure the buds are NOT sticking together by simply turning the jars gently.
Welcome to the community ! on the front end I usually burp 2 times A-day . As time goes on once A-day. And after 30 days maybe once or twice a week. I don’t have a set amount of time I leave the jars open. But usually no more than 20 minutes.
I will refer to @Hellraiser for this one. I believe he has a section he explains this stuff in I’ll see if I can find it unless @kaptain3d knows how to get that faster I’m new to the search bar here lol
thank you all for the info and the welcome have a great day
Recomend you read the “Grove Bag” thread. These are a great way to cure buds and no burping.
I burp jars once a day, for a longer period the higher the RH is, then shorter periods as the RH comes down, like that chart @Newt posted, though I’ve moved to Grove bags and don’t need to burp anymore.
Yes. Grove bags are… Awesome! I moved to them recently as well.
Im almost there! Also have some grove bags en route. Almost there meaning finish up drying in tent by weeks end? Hoping for a 10 day dry at least.
So really no burping aye? Have not read to see how that really works yet. Still put a rh meter in them im assuming? Terploc 1oz are what i have coming. With window.
I haven’t burped mine. (Well, except to pull a bud or two )
And I didn’t put hygrometers in with mine, because I had been in jars for almost 2 weeks, and already had the RH where I wanted it.
Do they make these Grove bags that will hold 1 2 or 3 oz or even a quarter pound?
Yes. And they even make drums.
Yes they do! 1/8 oz to 1lb I believe.
And watch out with humidity packs they can suck the moisture right of ur bud to were it can become to dry and brittle it happened to me
Do they sell the drums on Amazon? And what do they call them? And these are for curing or for storing?
So here’s my dilemma I dried my plants in 8 Days.
3 days hanging 5 days hanging in brown paper bags and I’m already at 62% so do I just jar em up and leave them or do I still burp them?
