I have a 7.6by 7.6 grow room I’m building with 600watt HP’s.
Should I setup inline fan to push or pull air out of hood
Hello: jjw72.0~ hey what kind of construction wood~tent?Oh yes !
Ventilation, is a must, but first you will need to measure your cubic feet~ footprint of your intended grow space,to get an idea of how many CFM’S~cubic feet per minute… fresh air, carbon filter~ from outside air into it grow room~just to keep the micro pollen outside ~ outside very nasty stuff!
Exhaust vent, outside w/h carbon filter here too, so nosey neighbors can’t smell what’s going on,TRUST ME bro !
And the list goes on,Most definitely worth the time,
And these guys here in the GANG ! VERY INFORMATIVE
PEOPLE!!!
One fan pulling heat off the bulb outside, one bringing fresh air in. You gonna set up ac in the room?
Yes . Hps or Mh run very hot. My first bulid i went crazy, 5ftx7ftx8ft i used 3in Ridgid insulation moisture resistant sheetrock covered with nrp panels fresh air inlet w/hepa ,carbon filter exhaust had 3 sealed hood running 1000w hps for veg and swap 400w MH for flowering . Heat has to be controlled when going old school
Yes using half ac floor vent
Judging from my brief year or so grow back in the 90’s, with a 400w HPS, I gotta say
absolutely!
I bought a kit with mine that came with a 4" radial blower. I pulled air from the outside, through a little lung room (now there’s a term I never heard in the 90’s) where the blower hung, then the blower blew through ducting into the sealed hood, then vented back outside. It pretty much eliminated all the lamp heat, and I just needed minimal grow space ventilation for co2 exchange, humidity, odor, etc.
I think the radials do better at pushing, just like a forced air furnace, only smaller.
I flower with a hps light in a 3x3 tent in a basement. 400w is the best setting for me. It does put out some heat but tent stays around 80 or so with lights on. Not bad
How high do you have your light
About 20"
I tried the 600w but my plants got too tall and burnt some colas so I went back down to the 400w.
I use the photone app for the light intensity. I keep my ppfd’s between 700 and 800 for the most part.
@jjw72.0 if it was me i would also on intake i would try to bring fresh air from outside into your grow room
