Read about pests. I have fungus knats. Used peroxide solution and didn’t water. Bugs were gone but plants started flowering. Looked like they were dead. Watering somewhat stopped flowers but knats r back. Now what?.

You can cover the top of your soil in pavers and, this will help stop them from reproducing, you can also use a small layer of Diatematious Earth, there is a product called Gnat gnix as well

Also perlite will help dry them out as well
