Pictures would help. Sounds like bud rot to me though

does bud rot have a white powder or do they just dry up? I think the roots drowned and plant is dying. we had a lot of rain.

Bud rot makes your buds brown and squishy

Had a lot of rain this season a couple of plants got bud rot. bubble gum seems to be real susceptible to disease. next time I will keep them out of the rain.

looper worm like bubble gum too. it is not the weather it’s bugs
