@raustin@GreenJewels After more reading and cyphering, I think I’m getting this watering thing figured out. Sometimes I’m a little slow but I’d rather have a plan in place before jumping off the bridge.
My plan right now is to let the plants settle in after the transplant. Check the soil condition for dampness tonight. I expect that they will be loosing moisture quickly because the mass of dry soil vs wet. If my theory is correct, I am planning on feeding tomorrow morning. If it is not then I will postpone the feeding until the plants tell me.
At this point my goal is that the plants call for water every 2-3 days and I am planning on 1/2 a gallon of water to start. If they want to be watered more often then I will increase the amount of water. If they want to be watered less often then I will decrease the amount of water.
Raustin, I’m using ProMix does this technique sound viable? I believe you use ProMix also.
@Beekeeper youre looking just fine. They will blow up on your very soon.
Alot of people break up somewhat like this:
Germination-seedling: first 7-10 days or til ‘true leaves’ start (three fingers)
Veg: major foliage growth 18-6ish schedule
Flower: bloom 12-12 schedule
Flying gnats in veg normally hints at overwatering. How are ur watering practices? Cant be too bad. Girls look good. N high humidity (70~) is ok in veg. As u near flower ull want to drop it a bit.
@PurpNGold74 thank you so much for the encouragement. I definitely don’t have a good watering routine, I’ve been over watering for sure. Thanks for the other tips as well. I’ve also listed a grow journal if anyone can give insight there.
Checked the plants this evening and they still seem to have enough moisture. I will check again in the morning, as of now I think the next feeding will be Wednesday. I am counting this as week 2 of veg. @dbrn32 I turned my HLG300 up to 80% tonight it was at 70%, the distance from the plants in both cases is 24”. For the size of the plant do you think that is too much?
It’s more than you need. You probably dont need to be at more than 50% power all the way through veg. You can start increasing your intensity a little at a time a week before you flip and then be close to full power by end of transition. Watch your node spacing and adjust off of that as needed.
General preference for indoor is not too much, just to have a well developed plant that isn’t too tall. But some prefer not to have a super short squat plant either. You should be pretty good there, but adjusting your intensity up will shorten node spacing if you need it. Lowering intensity will induce a little more stretch if you want that.
Yup. I prefer a nice node spacing medium. Makes it much easier to lst. Now dont get me wrong. Nice tight bud spaces makes for pretty solid nuggest of weed. Like picture perfect buds. But i like to control n space my girls. Go for pretty consistent tops if possible, so always a nice top cola… hindsight either way u win. Just different ways to slice a cucumber. 80% is a bit strong. But some run 100 all the way thru. And she has a MEAN bush
I’m pretty sure because of the change in vapor pressure condensation can occur. I’m not as sure, but I think even though cannabis stops using co2 the leaves will continue to transpire as well
You ever open your tent in the morning and seen condensation from leaves laying on top of one another? That’s from not having enough air circulation and RH too high. It can cause all sorts of problems… mold and mildew being top of the list
@MattyBear I wish…this is my first grow and my plants look small in there new forever homes. The only way their leaves could touch right now is if I tipped the pots over or pulled them out of the soil. it makes sense though.
Before I get started I want to say that the ILGM support staff has been very helpful.
I just found out this morning that my original order sent was autoflower and not photo. I have been treating them as photo this entire grow, including transplanting them twice. I am into what I am calling my second week of veg, it is day 26 since breaking ground.
I have several questions about the autos. How badly have I hurt them transplanting them twice? What are the chances the hermi? I need some guidance on how to treat these plants any is appreciated.
In the same tent, my only tent, I also have a photo from another company. I was going to crop and scrog this grow. I still would like like to do that with the forth plant it is a Jack Herer. How would this complicate matters? I see my biggest hurdle as drying the autos since I only have one tent and need to keep the odors eliminated. Ugh, my wife is going to kill me. I may need to get a second tent, filter and fan for drying. While I’m at it I may as well get a second light. This is way more than I bargained for, my other option is scrap the 4th plant but I really don’t want to do that.
I’m a little frustrated but support has been good. Now I need this communities help more than ever. When life gives you lemons you make lemonade. Anybody care for some?
I wouldn’t scrap anything. Let them grow. I had the same problem with how to dry a harvest when my tent was full. I devised a drying box and it worked for me
check @Screwauger journal. On autoflowers
