I am on my second attempt to start the Bruce Banner seed. Followed the germination guide, soaking for 24 hours on heat pad in dark. The seed failed to come up 9 days ago. Now my second seed has soaked for 48 hours and it is showing a very small tail. I started Girl Scout Cookies, Gorilla Glue and Purple Kush autos and a Gold Leaf feminized. All were soaked 24 hours and all popped up from soil by next day except the Banner seed. I placed the Banner in soil this morning, so I’m hoping this is just a slow to sprout variety. Any thoughts on the Banner failing to sprout, and 2nd one being slow to show life? Soil is at 6.5 Ph FF Ocean Forest, water is 6.6Ph distilled.
My first BB sprouted straight away and is really nice so far. I’d reach out to customer service, they’re good.
Last year there were several farmers including myself that was having a difficult time getting the BBS to sprout. Where did you purchase the seeds from? If ILGM they’ll take care of this issue
Yes, ILGM seeds. Thanks for the info.
Further confirms my suspicion that it’s the genetics. I have my first successful Bruce banner sprout out of 6 tries from 2 different seed banks.
2 out of 5 for me last year. They were beast but would have preferred all 5
Sheesh, I’m feeling way lucky at 1 for 1. How do you all practice, try to start over capacity and then roll with what happens or try to start with what there’s capacity for and then underperform on the square feet if some don’t take?
Difficult seeds can be left in a small cup of water for up to 4 days, in a dark warm environment. With a dash of peroxide if you want. If they crack and expose the tail you can transfer to damp cotton pads or paper towels, or just plant into medium. If they haven’t cracked after a prolonged period of time in the water they are likely duds.
As for filling your tent space in the event of failure, always over plant. Hope for the best, but give yourself a back up. If you don’t want to do this then scrogging would be a good option.

I am on my 4th BB grow from ILGM and each one has been “difficult” or slow to sprout. Most of the other seeds I’ve ordered from various seed banks, including ILGM, and all sprouted the tap root or opened the seed within 12 hours in tap water and then almost grown out of the seed hull in damp paper towels in a blacked out Tupperware container sitting in a dark 80° temp for a day. The BBs, however, have always taken several days to sprout from the seed leaving me praying to the green gods that the root will take and create the same masterpiece each time.
Thank you for the info. This is my first indoor grow. Have grown outdoors for a long time. Beautiful girls you have there.
sweet, I’ll get there one day!
Update: My second attempt with Bruce Banner is up, looks weak, but only popped up today. Next time I’ll soak it for 3 days to get more root showing.
These were started Feb 1. Had light too close so they didn’t have to stretch out. I’m new at this. How am I doing.
You’re doing fine! You’re learning and that’s all that matters
I’ve grown the gold leaf, gsc and gg4. Amazing how everyone is growing the same strains
Thanks man, I’m retired and needed a hobby and this has fit the bill. Helping me to keep my mind working. Can’t wait to sample the effort.
