Browning of the buds and leaves

Does anyone know or have had the same thing happen to your plants … all the tops where the bud is growing is turning brown and the leaves are curling in on themselves. Ian using foxfarm nutrients

Looks like heat stress. How have your temperatures been lately?

Agreed with purp. Def heat stress, look how taco’ed the top leafs are. Raise your light and shoot for 800 to 900 ppfd only.

My temps have stayed right at 76 degrees. It’s not only happening at the top it’s happening wherever a bud is starting from the bottom to the top

It looks like it is happening at EVERY bud site, even the ones down deep @PurpNGold74

You may have something toxic in your soil or perhaps some sort of root illness. I don’t have much experience with plant problems…Just taking a guess.

Has your light source changed at all?

I am with @merlin44 on root illness or toxic soil. ALL of you bud sites are doing the same thing, whether on top of the plant or bottom. To me that rules out heat stress. Your lighter green leaves all have spots on them. Another deficiency that could be linked to root problems.

Thank you for the info. I guess at this point I should probably cut them down and get rid of the soil and start over .

What soil are you using?

Happy frog . I do have some new ones started and I’m now using Foxfarm ocean forest potting soil

Just be careful with FFOF as it is hot. No nutes for at least 4 weeks.

I will definitely do that . Thank you. What do you think I should do with those other plants should I cut them down or let them grow?

You could try to flush if it is toxicity. Maybe add some microorganisms after that and see if you can get the beneficials to help the root system?

My issues are mostly pest related.

Good luck to you!

I wasnt saying light stress which happens at the top. Im saying heat. Like VPD. So… ill take a stab and guess you grow area/climate is pretty dry no?

Im just saying because the only plant ive had that did that, was outdoors in the late summer. She fried from a mixture of not enough water and the Mississippi heat that year. It didnt rain nearly enough. Now all that said, she was outdoors and not cared for at all… some kind of fungus/root toxicity may have occured.

Reality of this is there could be a couple of different problems going on here at once. Its hard to say for sure. Being that the buds do all look cooked, could be couple different things. Potential heat issues, Root issues possible as well. Spots on all of the leafs look odd to, hard to tell from pic.

Although i do believe there is more then one issue here, the taco’ed leafs up top are usually heat stress or humidy issues. I simply would not just ignore that symtom as well.

All the leaves to the bottom bud sites are also taco’ed. IDK as I have never seen this happen only at bud sites.
