what is the tmv virus?

Tobacco mosaic virus

post pictures never seen it in mj. if that is what it is then im sure they will send you new seeds but you got to post some pics

I am tomorrow my lights are off

I had tmj outside last year and it was transmitted by bugs to plant. The disease leaves the plant in a state of just existence. It very rarely kills the plant, but the plants stay in a weak condition and makes reaching harvest take forever. The buds are puny and don’t have much of a kick. All and all I will destroy any plants if it shows up again. I washed all my tools with alcohol and took my smart pots to the laundra mat and used bleach in the wash. There are other ways to pass this on as well. By the way, do you smoke cigarettes? I have never heard of the disease being passed threw seed, but it is possible I guess. I hope you find out what’s up. Mike. P.S. Did you have leaves that were normal on one side from the middle and on the other side was streaked with white and it made that side kind of drawn up. It is so hard to explain. Late in the flowering period the leaves just looked like the plant needed water. I checked, but the plant is wet. Mike

Have not seen anyone on this forum ever have tmv yet. Have also seen plenty of people growing ilgm blue dream without any issues what so ever, sometimes the only issue is the plant is growing TOO good lol. I couldn’t imagine it could of been a pre existing condition in the seed, so probably better to put the question out and ask the experts on her before presuming its a seed problem.
@latewood @Hammer @garrigan62 @Majiktoker @MacGyverStoner @Aquaponic_Dumme might be able to help on the issue if you give them some more info

You can use a product called physan 20 to start curing the tmv virus

I always thought that there was not a cure for tmv? Is this product something new @ Majiktoker? When my plants got this disease it spread to others that were growing in same area. Should Grow17 be concerned about his other 8 plants? Thanks in advance, Mike

Hey Grower17, I had no idea there was something safe to use for tmv. I would definitely like to hear more about it from the professionals here? Good luck with the rest of your grow. Mike. P.S. I also used ocean forest the time my plants had tmv? Could we have gotten it from infected dirt? Mike

Not sure but I did find out that I had a bug infestation on my new seedlings so that makes me think that’s what the problem is

Mine was caused by bugs and probably that is how it was transfered to my other plants. Glad you mentioned this. Mike

No nothing new research it @mcicchino you’ll be amazed at what can be cured for the most part and yes its a virus it will spread very rapidly and if you dont take care of it it can live in your soil, carpet, plants themselves for 50-60 years.

Can be induced from pests animals cigarette smoke and tobacco plants, also just cigarette smokers in general can give it to their plants

Only time this product likely won work is when tmv strikes the tissues of the plants
