Blending strains

Has anyone got recipes for some blends they especially like to smoke, in terms of both flavor and effect? Does it help if the blend sits for a while to marry the flavors, like pipe tobacconists do?

I do it all the time…just to have something different than the individual genetics…today I am smoking GodFather OG (Sept22) and OG Kush (Feb23)

Nice! So is it trial and error, or do you look at the Terps and try to find complementary ones in different strains? And how is the effect of say a 50/50 blend of Sativa and Indica different than a hybrid with 50/50 genetics?

Blending is an under appreciated area in my view. I have found a blend that actually helps with my arthritis pain. My five fills the dry herb vape each day for my nighttime use and a couple weeks ago we were watching TV and after vaping the first time in the day I notice my pain had melted away. Now I take hydrocodone for it and it does ok in diminishing it but this was soo much better that that.
She said she had just done a different mix because the baggies of ground up weed was a little low so she used a different mix that night.
It was 1/3 of each - Harlequin, Northern Lights, Blue Dream.

in a way… I know what each one is like at 100% and so I decide what do I want based on that …l believe as @Spiney_norman wrote that sometimes you just hit a ‘gem’…I will probably never try to grow a new genetic like many growers do …this is kinda a way to do that   :cowboy_hat_face:

Not sure how much experience you have with each of these individually, but i think she should attempt to get a good baseline for each, then try to run down what specifically about this mix helped her. Thumb eyeball assessment would say the cbd in harlequin is probably a good start, but probably needs some consideration to all cannabinoids and terpenes.
