they do have smaller options as well…

If you wanted to stay small you could get a 3x3 tent and get a 315 cmh or find a decent priced led that would cover the area nice. You could fit 2 in there nicely with training or 3 smaller plants. Imo

Three photo-period plants or three autos? 
As @BIGE and @Dieselgrower both noted, the size of the space is what we are concerned about when it comes to lighting. As for the number of plants, that depends on type (photo or auto) and how long you want to veg them (if photo). You could grow a single plant in a 2x4, 3x3, or even 4x4 space depending on veg time.
Best to let us know how big your space is.
My space is about 8’×8’ ×4’ high. I want to start out with 3 gorilla glue autoflower. Can I use LED grow bulbs and what about ventilation
